miles (little) big 3 bash

Miles’ birthday is on Groundhog day (yes, I love that both of our birthdays are on random holidays, mine being April Fool’s day and my mom’s on St. Patty’s day) so we had a little party today to celebrate. I decided to go super small with the festivities and had just our little family, my…

And by the way, my daughter (10) was watching the slide show with me and when the picture of you & Miles popped up, she asked “Who’s that?” to which I answered “That’s Miles’ mom”… and she exclaimed “Maaaan, she looks young!!!!”.

Tuesday night photo shoot for no reason

Two years ago today (Wed, actually) my sister passed away. I have considered blogging about it, but it’s just so insanely personal and so very sad. I was going to go to her grave today, but instead, I just stayed home with my family. I ate comfort food with Miles, distracted myself with cleaning the…

I think celebrating your beautiful family is a very appropriate thing to do today, Bets. These photos are adorable! I love the one with John yawning–he and Miles look so much alike in this pics! I can’t wait to see what you do with your studio this spring.

  • Jenny MillerJanuary 28, 2010 - 12:44 pm

I love your blog! I try to channel you when taking pictures of my kids with my husband. A “perfect picture” isn’t always a perfect picture.

  • AmandaJanuary 28, 2010 - 3:11 pm

YES! Curious George and the Chocolate Factory! Our little guy adores Curious George too, and I agree, it is amazing the Man with the Yellow Hat just keeps giving George all that freedom. HA! Very funny! Beautiful photos, gotta love the doggie tongue.

  • SarahJanuary 28, 2010 - 4:54 pm

  • Leigh KinneFebruary 4, 2010 - 9:35 pm

Betsy, you’re so awesomely real. I love reading your blog. I can feel your pain and sense your joy through you writing. Thanks for being so honest and refreshing. I’m terribly sorry to hear you suffered the loss of a sister. It’s sad that life gives us so much love and the same time that it gives us the pain that goes with that love. Never stop posting. It’s not inappropriate to share if you feel like sharing. We are here reading because we appreciate you. Sincerely, Leigh Kinne

belly shot: 12 weeks

I got together with a bunch of my friends on Friday and they thought I didn’t even look pregnant at all yet. What!? Oh man. So I exhale, stand to the side and show them again. Nope, no convincing. (Unless I was sitting down, then I guess I did.) Well, it must have been the…

your baby bump=perfection! your sweater/dress=gorgeous! Good luck on the crib transition, Oliver is 3 1/2 and we still haven’t done it…but soon.

  • EricaJanuary 26, 2010 - 11:40 pm

You do have a baby bump! You look so cute.

I am curious about the whole crib/bed issue. My son is 20 months and incredibly inquisitive. he has already locked me out of the house (how he was able to slide a double-pane sliding glass door that has to be in just the right position is beyond me). I think I will need to transition him out of the pack ‘n play where he sleeps now into a bed, but I dread bedtime. I am going to place a baby gate in the door frame to prevent him from wandering the house when he wakes up. I shudder to imagine what he might get into…

  • Melissa Jill :)January 26, 2010 - 11:41 pm

You look amazing!!! You’re definitely one of those annoyingly perfect women that is all belly πŸ˜‰ I hope I am as lucky if I ever have a baby! Love the sweater/dress you have on.

  • Emily M.January 27, 2010 - 12:58 am

you never know, the transition to the real bed could be a lot easier for miles than you think! i worried over it with both of my older two kids–i was sure it was going to be a nightmare. but instead it was very easy, not even one night of struggling. good luck!

  • robin cornettJanuary 27, 2010 - 8:07 am

You are scandalous…no wedding ring! πŸ™‚ Introducing the big boy bed does open the flood gates to roaming around the room. Battling that! Wish I had good advice for it, if you find out let us know!

  • RhondaJanuary 27, 2010 - 1:31 pm

What a cute baby bump!! And the dress/sweater is GORGEOUS!! I know that feeling about popping overnight…when I was about 5 months with my son I left on vacation in regular clothes…and had to stop for maternity clothes on vacation b/c I grew out of EVERYTHING I had brought!! πŸ™

  • BetsyJanuary 27, 2010 - 3:03 pm

puppet show

All Miles wanted to do this weekend was play puppet show. John is always so good to oblige with his awesome dragon and king voice. (His queen sounds like Julia Child, which is pretty great too.) I kind of blank out when it comes to playing puppets, so I stick to taking photos of it. Related Posts Plugin for WordPress, Blogger...

  • WendiJanuary 27, 2010 - 12:35 am

Aww! Well, if we ever had any doubt that he would like the puppets that has all just washed away in a sea of cuteness! We are so glad to see that he is having fun with them and hope that he will get good use out of them for years to come!

(Is it just me, or does the King kind of look like Tom?)
