mary’s senior photos

Mary’s shoot was yet another shoot where I felt like I was just walking around town with a friend, just hanging out. She is such a fascinating person who wants to travel the world after high school, loves cuddling up to a tub of Ben & Jerry’s with a chick flick and one of her…

Mary, you’re such a natural beauty…. you’re one of those girls who looks amazing right when you wake up… I can just tell! πŸ˜€ Betsy, I genuinely do not remember girls being as gorgeous when I was in high school as the ones you photograph… You have quite a way in bringing out the beauty in every one. What a gorgeous girl! I think my fave is the fence shot – I just LOVE that pop of yellow! And is it just me or does she have a little bit of an Emma Roberts thing going on? LUCKY GAL πŸ™‚

  • AmberJanuary 22, 2010 - 10:36 am

  • Heather CorporanJanuary 22, 2010 - 10:47 am

I have many photography blogs I follow for different reasons. But of all of them I love your photos the most – honestly. There is something so simple and timeless about your photos that I love. I guess it’s just your ‘style’ of shooting I love so much. (maybe someday I can pick your brain on what it is you do to achieve it …in and out of camera : ) Another beautiful senior shoot! Inspired again in NH

I did a project a while back for Grasshopper Diapers, a cloth diaper company out of Canada. I just heard from the creator that the site is up and live and the diapers are ready to ship! Click here to check it out! I’m sure you can imagine who the main model for the project…

What a cute shot of Miles & John – it’s fun to see what was going on behind the scenes! Miles looks especially young to me in that picture. Looking forward to some diaper pictures on the new little King baby later this year.

  • Tori PiercyJanuary 20, 2010 - 10:47 pm

Those are super cute Betsy! WTG on scoring a great job and doing it well πŸ™‚

  • Tira JJanuary 21, 2010 - 12:28 pm

Awesome job Betsy! One of my clients actually told me about these types of diapers. When we have kiddos, I will have to look into them.

friends with cameras

Becoming a photographer has brought some of my best friends into my life. Ever since picking up my camera, I have been surrounded by insanely talented people who I feel humbled for being invited into their beautifully creative and full lives. Who knew that something that chained me to my computer for hours upon hours…

    we love you bets!

  • heidi garciaJanuary 19, 2010 - 1:50 am

I would agree, I’m not in the photography world, but everyone seems so helpful and excited- it makes me want to be in it. Pilates world is so competive, that it stinks trying to find one who will brainstrom with you rather than think you are trying to gain their business. Makes for a lonely world sometimes.

  • VanessaJanuary 19, 2010 - 9:45 am

It does at times feel very much like high school. We deal with another photographer in our church who, when we’ve tried to say hello, will actually stick her nose in the air and walk away. Seriously.

  • tamiJanuary 19, 2010 - 11:54 am

one day when we meet…i WILL hug you TIGHT! love you…and your pugs!

  • kim weissJanuary 19, 2010 - 2:38 pm

love you to pieces, bets! so nice to have our little group of what I always envisioned pro photographers would be like… sharing, laughing, enjoying each other!

  • Maya LaurentJanuary 19, 2010 - 4:21 pm

Ohhh…I need to check out that place in Ft. Wayne! We need to set a date for that! Gail, you are too cute!

  • MichelleJanuary 19, 2010 - 6:36 pm

I love BOTH of those photographers!! I read Jodie’s blog DAILY and Gail has actually become one of my never met in real life but consider her a “friend” peeps. πŸ™‚ Her taste in music is PERFECT! πŸ˜‰

  • JennaJanuary 19, 2010 - 7:18 pm

Love the new blog features. We’re getting ready to make some big changes and upgrades. Can’t wait to have a new look!

  • jamie delaineJanuary 19, 2010 - 7:46 pm

  • ShellJanuary 19, 2010 - 8:52 pm

I just love this creative blogging community bringing us photographers and moms together! I have made so many wonderful connections through my creativity and blogging as well, and that’s also what brought me here to your blog! I feel so blessed! What a treat! I love that you made a comment to her success and now you are online friends inspiring one another. Best wishes on your growing family and business! Shell

  • bridgetJanuary 20, 2010 - 4:05 am

I heart Bets. seriously. You are a wonderful, talent chicka. And I am happy we connected thru Jods. It’s a blessing having you in my life. πŸ™‚

  • jodieJanuary 20, 2010 - 8:38 am

I have to admit that it is SO strange to see my photo on another blog! πŸ™‚ Kinda alarming! HA! But Bets… I can’t tell you how much you guys enrich my life. Like you said, I spend so much time in front of the computer that some of my real life friendships have suffered. Not on purpose, but between three small kids and the business I just don’t have much time. So to have such amazing online friends is just awesome. I can’t wait to meet someday! Love you!

  • GailJanuary 20, 2010 - 9:16 am

Hugs to you. Forever and always. That’s all I have to say about this fabulous post πŸ™‚

PS – That and if we DID live in the same city, we’d probably NEVER get work done because we’d just gab so much!!!!

PPS – Just noticing…your new couch kinda matches your background on your blog. PERFECTO! Now let’s add some teal accents!!

please hold, your visit is important to me

Hey gang. It’s been brought to my attention that people viewing my blog from Internet Explorer can’t see my photos. I guess my pregnancy brain has spread to my blog. I did also do a little upgrading to my blog over the weekend and I guess I’m having some bugs to work out. So, in…

BTW, I find it hilarious that I didn’t post a photo with this blog post, considering I was asking you guys if you could see photos. HA! So go to the next post to test the waters. ; )

    As told by Miles:

Knock knock. Who’s there? Boo Boo who? Don’t cry about it!

  • bridgetJanuary 19, 2010 - 12:23 am

Can’t wait to use that knock knock joke! and I can see the photos on my internet explorer. weird.

I’m having the same issue … some clients no issues … some with issues … I’ve reported it to ProPhoto … If I get it fixed I’ll email you … I did find a quick fix if you make the sidebar to the right in lieu of left it fixes it πŸ™‚

an afternoon with katie

Yippeee! I just got to take a little vacay from our artic winter to spend some time wrapping up Katie’s senior photos from this past autumn. (If you recall, I have a handful of very patient high school seniors who had their photos taken during the fall, but will get them this winter during my… Related Posts Plugin for WordPress, Blogger...

Those would have to be among the BEST senior photos I’ve seen (and I stalk a lot of photography blogs, so I see a few!). She is a gorgeous girl, and your work makes her look even better. And I just love how she chose to have her photos taken in her yard. It all looks so relaxed and effortless. Well done to both of you!

  • Maya LaurentJanuary 19, 2010 - 4:18 pm

She’s gorgeous! She certainly knows how to work it for the camera!

  • […] she looks familiar? I photographed her beautiful sister, Katie a few years ago. Just love this sweet family. We hope to raise our kids as well as their parents […]
