Monthly Archives: June 2010

just had to share what I found

Miles still takes some great naps in the afternoon. So much so that I usually have to wake him up so he’s not a zombie for dinner. On this day, I opened his door to find that he had “read” a book (upside down, mind you) till the end before conking out. It appears he…

    that is so cute! 🙂

my little 3-year-old guy still takes great naps too. i also have to PULL him out of bed around 4 or 430. isn’t it crazy?!

for what it’s worth, my little girl (9 months) isn’t as great of a napper… but i’ve found it matters a little bit less with the second one. i’m always sacrificing her naps so that i can take her along with my son on errands, playdates, etc… i guess i’m just a lot more relaxed this time around. 🙂

My cousin in an only child. Her mom always said that because she was such a good baby the odds that another baby would be that good were slim to none. So she never had anymore. Neither of my kids was a napper. One stopped napping at 1 yr. It was awful.

So precious. I can’t believe you have a pop-up book that isn’t destroyed!!!

  • LizJune 30, 2010 - 2:46 pm

The 1st will not in any way dictate what the second will be like. So many people wanted to “jinx” me about my second baby being a terror b/c the first was so easy. BLECH! I don’t believe in jinxes anyway…but come on, why curse my unborn child? Anyway, I thought Stella was a good sleeper until Charlie came along…he’s been better since day 1 and continues to prove to be more laid back, easy going and less high maintenance. Is that girl vs. boy or 1st born vs. 2nd? Who knows…just do what you did the first time around…and see how great he turned out!?

slip n slide sunday

My mom has been spoiling us lately by showering Miles with some awesomely fun summer toys that will help keep him occupied in this last month (yes, we are down to ONE MONTH away-AHHHHH!) before the baby arrives. Saturday that meant busting out the new baby pool and today, before we headed out to the…

As a kid, we ruined the lawn for a few years with the slip n slide. It was the best. Now my kids can’t do it, because we have a sidewalk that splits the yard, so they don’t have enough room.

  • BetsyJune 28, 2010 - 8:38 am

Kelli: Oh no! John will freak when he hears it ruined a lawn. 😉

  • CassieJune 28, 2010 - 10:34 am

That is such a great picture of John!

  • MichelleJune 28, 2010 - 10:39 am

Was that Slip ‘n Slide a gift for John or Miles? The pictures look like they both were having a blast. Brought back tons of childhood memories of huge hill in our front yard with many hours of sliding with neighborhood kids. Usually followed up with the entire day in the neighbor’s pool. I bet they really got sick of us bobbing around in it ALL summer 😉

So fun! We just bought one last week too & it pained me not to slide down it. I tried to think of a belly-friendly way, but no dice.

i always feel like somebody’s watching me

I was snapping some photos of (a totally not into it) Miles the other day when I saw Whisper in the background, just patiently sitting, and waiting for Miles to drop food. She’s like this little statue, just sitting motionless, only blinking, fixated on the floor beneath Miles’ chair. You’ll notice that Whisper, or “Princess…

Oh my gosh we have matching coffee tables. Our Thomas shed and round-table is on ours as well. 🙂 I smiled when I saw that. LOVE the pugs!

Oh man, this makes me want a puppy SO bad.

  • KelliJune 28, 2010 - 1:45 am

The title and the picture cracked me up. KInd of creepy too.

look what my husband made!

My friends are REALLY great at gift giving. I believe I have mentioned this before. Well, I can’t say I always hit it out of the park with my gift choices, but being on the receiving end of thoughtful gifts has made me more mindful of trying to be really personal in what I give,…

Oh my goodness!! Those are so adorable!! I’m sure Bobbi loved them. Wish I had been around to see her reaction. 🙂 John did a super fabulous job on those. I love the Woody project up next!

Holy Smokes! His cutting is amazing! I loved the movie too. Especially the scrapbooking stuff.

the nursery…getting there?

Ok, so I’ve been spending the majority of my nesting time on Miles’ room and not so much the nursery. Probably seems a bit odd, but honestly, I’ve never had big ideas about what to do in Miles’ room and it’s all finally coming to me now. I can’t wait to share photos. (I FINALLY… Related Posts Plugin for WordPress, Blogger...

That mobile is adorable! That was one thing I put off buying, and now I feel like it’s not really worth it to get one. Was that the project you needed big buttons for? So did you put the four canvases together to make one giant canvas? I still make just about all my projects too fast and end up with little “oops,” but I kind of think that’s what handmade stuff is supposed to look like 🙂 I’m so excited for you!!

  • CassieJune 23, 2010 - 7:42 am

Ohhh, nevermind, I get it now. 🙂

  • BetsyJune 23, 2010 - 9:17 am

Yes Cassie, the mobile is a so not necessary item in the nursery. Was a bit of an impulse buy. 😉 Though I do wish the mobile Miles had didn’t have such awful music. He loved looking at it, it just didn’t have a mute button.

Thanks for being excited, I’m still pretty “eh” about what I made, but it’s better than looking at the Bee Happy painting for another day. 😉

I love it! Very handmade and it’s perfect. Don’t you love that urge that you get the last few months or pregnancy to be crafty. Wish I had it in me all the time! Can’t wait to see Baby 2.0 on the blog!

  • KelliJune 23, 2010 - 10:48 am

I love that mobile! It’s so relaxing. When I saw the first picture, I thought “That’s a weird saying to have in vinyl wall art.” Then I realized what it was.

  • RhondaJune 23, 2010 - 1:11 pm

Love what you’ve made for the nursery! The mobile is adorable. I have never seen anything like that before.

  • Maya LaurentJune 26, 2010 - 1:45 pm

So, so, so cute! Love the handmade touch of everything!
