self portrait series: October, part two

Ok, I’m sorry, I couldn’t help myself, I HAD to do a photo (ok, two photos) from Disney for my October self portrait series. So yes, I’m doing two self portraits this month. (It’s so fun to be able to make your own rules as you go!) Just as I said in my previous post,…

I love it! I wouldn’t mind one bit if you posted a photo from Disney every day.

  • CassieOctober 31, 2011 - 12:04 pm

Oh man, Miles looks so intense in that last photo. Is he a little sad you can’t recreate the makeup? Can’t wait to see your Halloween pics–sorry you’re feeling crummy 🙁

John paying is the best. Ha!

self portrait series: october

I joked in an earlier post that a photo of me on the tea cup ride at Disney was my October self portrait. Yes, indeed, October 2011 will always be remembered as the glorious month of all things Disney, but it also held a very rare opportunity to be reunited with an old friend who…

Such a beautiful post. My dad was diagnosed with cancer in May of 2010 and I remember how important the support of friends, new and old, helped. Thankfully, my dad is still here and I am so so grateful. However, we have experienced other pains in the unexpected loss of my uncle and recently putting my grandfather on hospice. Those friends have stood by my family’s side through it all.

Because we both share the common connection of cancer, I feel like I know you personally. I started following your blog a little less than a year ago and I love seeing how your life has evolved. You have grown with such grace and I am so happy that you have found joy in the after.

  • Kellie GrayboschOctober 31, 2011 - 1:41 am

Betsy, I don’t think I ever met Andy. I don’t think you were married yet when you coached me all those years ago. But, I have kept up with your blog and I think I’ve read all the “Andy” posts and they all make me tear up, this one was no exception. You have a way with words (and photos) and I love keeping up with your blog, even though I haven’t seen you in more than 10 years. Thank you for sharing these stories, they are so inspiring. Oh Betsy… this is such a beautiful post. Though I don’t know you personally, I have always thought your little family was just adorable. But reading stories about Andy makes my heart sing for the happiness life brought you in the years following so much grief. Hugs.

the way we walk

I came home from a shoot one night and down the street, I saw my world, all wrapped up in leashes, Cookie Monster slippers, a baby carrier and a helmet. Joss couldn’t see me until I peeked around John to say hello. Look at her surprised little face! See, there’s Joss trying to peek around…

purely precious!! Thanks for sharing about the carrier! Did you have a favorite carrier when the were really little as well?

  • Lacey ROctober 30, 2011 - 12:31 pm

Tin Caps clothes??? I saw a daddy wearing a jammied-baby in carrier on his back, walking alongside his little boy on a bike, and clutching the leashes of the family’s beloved pets. Now THAT is cute! ;- )

Miles is so precious. This has been his year to shine. He’s doing GREAT! He’s making friends, staying healthy (thank GOD for ear tubes!) knocking our socks off with his sweetness and you all know he was a great age for Disney. Things have switched from Miles being the handfull to Miles being “the easy…
