3 dog night for a while

First of all, thank you SOOOOO much for all the wonderful comments congratulating us on our new baby on the way. That was such a fun way to start the week!

However, our week of good news has changed today when I heard that my father-in-law, Bill, (Andy’s dad) fell and broke his hip today. Bill is such a light hearted man, so it just breaks our heart to hear about him hurting. I knew the first thing we could do to help was take in their pug, Leelu, who we often pugswap/pug sit for when either us, or the Zabel family goes out of town.

This won’t be just a little weekend stay for Leelu. I imagine we’ll have her for a while as Bill recovers. So you will probably be seeing a lot more of this popping up on the blog. If you didn’t know, pugs are crazy pack animals. They are thick as thieves. We think two pugs snuggled together is the sweetest thing, so seeing three just makes our hearts explode.

If you are the praying kind, please pray for Bill tonight and please keep him in your thoughts and prayers in the weeks ahead as he heals. Also, pray for my mother-in-law Barb, for the strength being a caregiver takes. Taking care of your husband when they are down can be one of the most rewarding things, but not always the easiest role to be in. (Men can be a bit stubborn, if you weren’t aware.) I’m already sad that Bill won’t be home for Christmas. The Zabel’s have a firm tradition of singing around the piano at Christmas and it won’t be the same without Bill running the player piano. We’ll all just have to make our rounds visiting him in the hospital.

Hoping you are all hanging in there (and perhaps enjoying them a bit) as the holidays come careening around the corner. If you don’t come back before the 25th, MERRY CHRISTMAS!

Poor guy! It’s just no fun being in the hospital for the holidays, we will definitely keep all the Zabels in our prayers! But I am excited to see more snuggling pugs 🙂

Betsy, please let Bill know that I will be thinking of him and praying for a speedy recovery. I will pass the word to others. Also, congratulations to you and John on the addition to your adorable family!

I look forward to seeing more pug love on your blog. I couldn’t imagine life without my lil’ pug, Frank.
