amazzzzzzing weekend

Wow, what an awesome weekend. Amy’s wedding was GORGEOUS and an incredible event. I have to say that love does conquer all, even grief on a difficult day, because Amy’s happiness and all of our excitement for her and Jonathan eclipsed the sadness I usually feel on the fourth. (Next year, I might just crash someone’s wedding on the 4th because it’s really a great way to spend the day!)

I only took photos the morning of the wedding at the salon and then I left my camera at home on the big day to focus on being a bridesmaid. I”m at everyone’s mercy for wedding photos, so I’ve been keeping my eyes open on facebook as they trickle in.

Here’s a photo of the bridal party beautiful Cassie took of us.

It was SUCH a fun time. My legs are STILL sore from dancing and my face, still sore from smiling. The ceremony was precious and so incredibly heartfelt and meaningful. It was experienced through many tears but also laughter at moments like when as Amy was waiting to kiss her groom, she was literally hopping up and down with excitement waitinf for the officiant, a dear friend of hers, to declare them husband and wife. HILARIOUS!!!! Once the wedding ceremony was over the bridal party danced down the aisle to “signed, sealed, delivered.” I’ve never seen such a high energy ending to a wedding. Amy attracts the most amazing people in her life so it was the most incredible dance party and love-fest. Over and over I felt so blessed to be included in that amazing day.

Today I’m working on getting back to normal but I”m kind of in a post wedding let down that I thought only brides felt. I think I’m going to go give the mother of the bride a call and see if she needs to do a little hot tubbin and review how amazing it all was.

I’m so excited for Amy & Jon. The fun is really just beginning for them. I know that was the case for John and I and I can’t imagine it would be any different for Amy and Jon. As Amy’s maid of honor said during her wedding speech, “I hope to celebrate a baby in 9 months!” Or has her brother would interject to say, “Nine months and a day!” 😉

CUTE! Thanks for sharing the story with us Betsy….I’m so glad the joy of the day was able to help heal the ache you were feeling, at least in some way. I’m sure the ache will always be there, but….it sounds like it was a nearly perfect day.

Oh man, my picture-taking skills look like crap compared to what’s normally on your blog 😉

It was a beautiful, beautiful, beautiful wedding…I’m SO SO gladd I got to see you and John and Miles this weekend–I was almost as excited for that as I was for the wedding! 🙂 XOXO

It must be said…you look beautiful, as does everyone in the bridal party! But you, my friend, win the award for the best tan (spray on or otherwise) and for the most toned arms I’ve ever seen! Jealousy, that green-eyed monster, is beginning to rear her lovely head…but not so much as to get me to the gym. Ha!
