One of my favorite things about shooting seniors is how excited they get before their shoot. I get adorable emails, or Facebook messages and I can just feel their excitement over the phone when I chat (or text) with them about their shoot.

Rachel was no exception. A few of her best friends have had their photos taken by me, so she has had lots of time to get excited and anticipate her shoot. I was excited to meet her too as I had heard so many great things about her. You have to understand, this girl is AWESOME. She spends her summers traveling the world, totally immersed in their language, has such a great attitude and is very involved in our community. I’ll say it again, I photograph the most amazing young people.

I love how that picket fence and yellow parking line in the background are like an arrow, leading your eye right to Rachel.

PS Rachel, just wanted to share that you have the name I always wanted. (Even before Jennifer Aniston’s character on Friends was named Rachel.) Actually, I was recently called Rachel by someone who apparently wasn’t very sure of my name. I didn’t correct them and just thought it was cool he thought I looked like a Rachel. (Every Rachel I have ever known is gorgeous.) Just thought I would add that random little story to your sneak peek for fun. Hope you enjoyed waking up to your photos!
