take miles and chris and john and betsy out to the ballgame

Once again, I left my camera at home while out and about so this time the photos are from our friend Chris and whoever grabbed his camera.

John’s birthday was celebrated by an afternoon at a Tin Cap’s game last month. His best friend Chris came along with us and we all had a great time. John and Chris are going to KILL me for saying this, but having an awesome friend like Chris around who loves Miles and who Miles LOVES as well, is like having my own personal My Two Dad’s right here in our house. (A little bit of trivia for you is I sat in the audience of a live taping of My Two Dad’s, with Scott Bao as a guest star, in the ’80’s and I SWORE you could hear my laugh when it aired.) Anyway, how cute are these three? They always have a blast together.

The best part of the day was after the game when they let the little kids run the bases. Chris and John ran the bases with Miles and got photos of him doing that, then it was so much fun, we did it again and I took photos from the stands. It was SO awesome to watch! I mean, Miles was just running the bases and I felt all the pride of a momma watching her son hit a home run. Ok, I am starting to get how much fun it could be to have kids in sports. Oh, and the Tin Caps are 2009 mid-west league champions, so they had a GREAT first season in our gorgeous new stadium. (BTW, the TinCaps name is a nod to Johnny Appleseed, so we are kind of nutty about Johnny Appleseed around here.)

So here’s a little slideshow of our afternoon. When I post a client’s slideshow, I make sure I use music I’m licensed to use. So forgive me (Please John, forgive me!) for using non-licensed music here, but it’s just for fun and I wanted to play around with the music. Hope you appreciate it. The music cracks me up! This was created before we discovered our idea to do sound recordings for slideshows, though that would have been awesome way to use authentic sounds, this is still a fun show.

Chris said watching the slideshow totally takes him back and reminds him of all the awesome details of that day. So crank up your speakers and check out our afternoon at the game.

Notice the cute shirt that Miles is wearing in the photos? It was purchased by Chris that day. Isn’t that so sweet? Miles still remembers that his Tincaps shirt is from Chris. (so SWEET!) By the way, remember when I did that blog post to see if any single ladies wanted to get to know Chris better? Well, that experiment fell through and amazingly enough, he’s still single! (At least he was the last time I asked…) Though no more dating game through me. He’s a friend of mine on Facebook, so you can find him there pretty easily.

It’s been really nice doing these personal blog posts so thanks for tuning in. I have been crazy busy lately and it’s nice to take a break and do some family posts.

The music was hilarious! I’m so bummed we didn’t get to go to a game this summer—it looks like so much fun!

Oh, Betsy – that was great. And I haven’t heard that song since college days!
