the latest on the belly, et. al.

Instead of posting another shoot tonight, which I was very close to doing, I decided to take a quick break from work and show a belly pic and talk about what’s been going on lately.

Well, first of all, as you all know, March has been all about moving into the studio space. Therefore, it’s also been about 100 new aches and pains for me as I have TOTALLY over done it. I already knew going into this pregnancy that I shouldn’t book myself a lot or at least very late into my pregnancy because my body just doesn’t allow for it. I did a really good job of limiting my calendar. If I do too much, my arms and hands will burn, ache and sting like I”m having a heart attack for 24 hours straight. Well, that happened last weekend after I worked too hard and holy cats did I PAY for it. (The same thing happened when I was pregnant with Miles and raked the entire yard.) It has something to do with the increased bloodflow of pregnancy. I don’t think this happens to every pregnant woman, but it sure is my big symptom. Sooooooo, after one weekend of me dealing with my arms and legs screaming, I have decided to listen to my body and have been resting up as much as I can and letting others do the lifting in the studio or just not doing some things.

Everything is going great with the pregnancy, minus my own stupidity at over doing things. I have been feeling the baby move more and more every day which is so exciting. We are still working on names, but just haven’t gotten very close to what we want. The night my arms were killing me I literally laid in bed for an hour and a half blurting out names jussssst as John would fall asleep. I have GOT to be the world’s most annoying pregnant woman. We still aren’t finding out the sex of the baby which makes me sad in some ways, but I know it will be fun for us to find out like they always did in the “olden days” too this time around.

Miles is hilarious because he says everybody has a baby in their belly! He is already killing us with sweetness when he hugs me and says, “The baby likes that!” Or kisses my belly. It just melts our heart into a puddle. I know everything happens at the right time and the further we get along I know this was the perfect age for our family to have Miles become a big brother.

The next fun thing we get to do is our ultrasound to finally take a little peek at our baby. I’m so excited because the appointment is on my birthday, April first! (I’ll give you a minute to go write that important date down.)

So I’ll shush and here are some pics. Here was the first belly pic I had managed since the last one, the day we moved into the studio space. (I was stilllllll able to squeeze into my regular jeans with a bella band.)

and here’s one from last night, hopefully the last time I wear that sweater! If you know me, you know I have worn that sweater one MILLION TIMES this winter! Now, there really isn’t hope of me fitting into my regular jeans with all the help of all the bella bands in the world.

I was in the studio with a a familiar face that I’ll be blogging soon, and she snapped this photo of me. Leave it to my terrible posture to totally hide my baby belly! I figure I don’t show my face here often, so I’ll pop one up. I did a serious photo, but it looked more like one of those ads you see with a pregnant girl on it that says, “Scared? Confused? Don’t know where to go?” So I just left that one sit on my harddrive. Happy and pregnant is a much more fun look. 😉

Oh, and one more thing I had to share. Miles’ preschool teachers made these with the kids and sent them home for Valentine’s day last month. It’s their little hands in a fist stamped into roses! We just thought that was the sweetest thing in the universe. I do a pretty good job of doing free abstract art with Miles, but it is fun to see actual projects where they make things come home from Miles’ preschool too.

Ok, I still need to post a full studio tour, sneak peeks from last night’s shoot and to this spring’s seniors, I’m working on finalizing graduation card designs. So don’t go too far. I may have let the blog sit for a few days while I rested up, but there will be more coming soon.
