Twas the night before Easter, and all through the house, not a creature was stirring, not even this dozen eggs. Though they do appear to be cracking up.
No, I could not resist the pun. I am my father’s daughter after all. Miles set the eggs up that way and even pushed a chair up to the table so the easter bunny would be able to hop up onto the table to gather them and hide them outside. Good gracious holidays are SOOOOO much more fun when you have kids.
So John and I got up at 6:30 AM to hide eggs in our soaking wet lawn and climb back in bed for a few extra winks before Miles came bounding in, excited from all the eggs he found inside on his way to us. (Note to self: DON’T GO BACK TO BED if you get up early. It ALWAYS makes you feel like crap. AlWAYS.) To say he was excited for Easter morning is an understatement. In this post you’ll see some video and pics from our morning. Our Easter photos are taken minutes upon waking so we are all in our jammies, no make up and nary a sip of coffee, so please be kind. Also, mental note to myself to put Miles in some cute jammies that don’t fit weird next Easter. (Not that that really matters!)
Sorry sweetie, those juice boxes were just in your basket for filler. (Hilariously, the juice boxes were the first thing to get consumed and I’m not even sure they made it till noon between me, John and Miles.)
Jocelyn’s basket had some cute books, bubbles a plastic egg that looked like a chick that both she and Miles loved. Miles’ basket was full of a kite, mini skateboards, some candy, juice boxes and easter toys. Jocelyn loved pulling everything out of her basket, though Miles stole the show with his over the top reaction to his goodies.
Here’s Miles reacting to the stuff in his basket and after we were all hunting for eggs in the soggy morning, I had to grab a quick family photo. Yep, that’s me with no make up, dirty hair and way before my coffee had kicked in. I figured that’s how my kids know me best, so I better capture it!
Here’s a little video of Miles finding his basket. A couple of things to notice:
-Miles’ hilariously ill fitting pajamas.
-The first thing he does upon pulling his new kite out of the basket is read all the warnings. He’s really into reading warnings about stuff. Someday he’ll probably be hall monitor or maybe a personal injury lawyer? wink
-You see me taking pictures. Surprise, surprise.
-We see how our pug got to eat an entire Cadbury Egg.
So sit back and enjoy a few minutes of our crazy house on Easter morning.

Since Miles stole the show (yes, our house is always a stage) here’s some footage of Jocelyn being her adorable self:

Hope you all had a nice weekend. We celebrated later in the day with my extended family, but no photos of that as my hands were full with a very on-the-move Jocelyn. Speaking of photos, here’s last year’s easter photos. It’s always fun to look back and remember.
Your kids are adorable!!!!
You are SO right! I always feel like CRAP if I crawl back in bed. Thanks for reminding me not to do that !
What a great Easter for your fam! Makes me want to be a kid again. Miles is a hoot! He’s “cautiously optimistic” perhaps? 🙂 Joss is getting SO big and doing SO much! Cuties! Your family is beautiful – dirty hair – no makeup – ill fitting jammies and all! 🙂
I love how excited Miles gets!
Oh, Miles. How I adore thee. What a precious precious boy. Thanks for sharing, Kings. You know the videos are my favorite. Watching Joss grow reminds me of Miles as a baby. She’s so animated, and those eyes… all Miles!
