a glimmer of hope

Ever since Jocelyn started crawling Miles has showed us time and time again, in many various ways, that he is not thrilled to share his toys with his sister. It hasn’t been fun being a referee ALL DAY LONG. I’ve had visions of our house just being a fight zone for the next fourteen years. (NOT what I signed on for at all.) Finally, we had a glimmer of hope the other day that Miles could actually enjoy his sister and, miracles of all miracles, share toys. mg 9480

He had a blast scooting Jocelyn around and around the kitchen and living room. Jossy seemed a bit in shock that Miles was actually playing with her.

This pic is pretty cluttered, but I like how it shows Miles checking in on Joss here.

Here’s hoping we see more of this. I so badly want them to be close and love each other. I’m sure they will. Poor Miles, he’s been the star of the show for three and a half years, so he’s still adjusting. Heck, we all are!

My son and daughter are 6 yrs. apart. They have always been very close. But we were very aware of the age difference, my brother and I are the same, but not close at all. We made sure to never ask him to be a baby sitter, he always had his own room and toys, and friends and we think that helped.
