a peek at puerto rico

We just home from a destination wedding in Puerto Rico for our good friend Chris. It was quite the epic 18 hour travel day to get there, but once we shook the exhaustion and stress from that off and got wedding business taken care of, we enjoyed lots of wonderful family and friend time at the pool and beach. The kids were the ring bearer and flower girl for the wedding and they were PERFECT and the wedding was just precious! I can’t wait to tell you more about it! Our hearts were just bursting through the whole thing. As soon as the wedding photographer posts photos, I’ll share them with you. I have lots more pictures to share, but I have client photos that are more important to work on! For now, let’s just soak up some sun.

Joss wasn’t so sure at first of the ocean, but once she got it figured out, she loved it. I just love photos of me and my girl. (To my friends who love my curly hair, I wore it curly the WHOLE time. Can’t believe I even packed my flat iron with all that humidity down there!)

Miles LOVES to just run up and down the beach and explore for treasure. He was brave and swam out into the water too.

The pool’s bar had music going most of the day and little Joss loved to clap and dance along.

Yes, Twizzlers are my favorite candy, but that’s not a Twizzler Joss is eating. It’s some gross (to me) organic fruit twist. 😉 Joss was such a punkin at the pool. She was so popular there! When we would arrive at the pool, a whole row of ladies laying out would pop up and all wave hello and say, “Hi Jossy!” It was like she was a little celebrity! I don’t know if people just love little baby girls over there, but everybody just gushed over Joss. Actually, people were amazingly accommodating of both of our kids, even at a really nice restaurant we went to, the waiters all just showered Joss with all sorts of things to nibble on and came by to say hello and oooh and ahhh over how beautiful she is. Miles didn’t attract as much adoration, but he was treated wonderfully all the same. They just really seem to appreciate children instead of being annoyed by them. It was definitely a cultural difference we appreciated and were pleasantly surprised by.

The kids were just so great on this trip. They handle the traveling wayyyy better than I do. Miles is such a great traveler, we could easily take that kid to Europe or farther if we were so inclined. He’s so great at just sitting in the plane and working on activity books, reading magazines, looking out the window or watching the ipad. Joss? Well, she’s not an airplane cryer, but she sure is nutty! I think she slept for about 20 minutes during that 18 hour travel day we had. Miles ran and ran with us as we sped to make our connections in the airports and he was just a trooper all around. Yay for great traveling kids! However, after two trips in the past month, we are DONE traveling for a while! (Though we would go back to Disney in a heartbeat if we could!!!)
