almost time!

I’ve been sick and just kind of hanging on for dear life this past week. I still have gifts to wrap, but just haven’t found a single bit of time after Miles is in bed with any energy left to do it. This month has not been about togetherness at all for me and John and we are SICK of it. I guess I’m literally sick of it now. Between me going to holiday parties alone, out shopping in the evening and attending wedding events for an upcoming wedding we are going to (I just can’t do a baby sitter at this age for Jocelyn) John and I are like two ships passing in the night. Oh and with me being sick, I’m more like a submarine passing in the night. Last night Joss woke up at 3:30 AM and I went to bed at 5:30, just as John was getting up to go to the studio. At least I got to chat with him a bit before he went to work instead of me usually being deep in slumber as he heads off. So that’s a bonus.

So here’s hoping we get some evening time together wrapping presents and that my cold heads out before Christmas morning. Christmas is all about family and being together right? After a month of running around totally apart, I CAN’T wait for some togetherness.

Speaking of togetherness, here’s a photo my friend Bobbi took while we were hanging out together over Thanksgiving. I may not be getting a lot of time with John, but I sure am getting plenty of snuggle time with this sweet little punkin. I’m so in love with this photo. I wish so much that I could stuff this precious time in a bottle, so this is the next best thing. By the way, waking up at 3:30 am is barely a chore because she is just so smiley and precious.

While Jossy and I lay around snuggling in warm blankies, the boys are working hard outside in the snow. Miles is totally all about doing things ALL BY HIMSELF and just like a grown up.

Hi John! Can’t wait to see you sometime this Christmas! 😉

Take a look at Miles’ boots. They have fire breathing dragons on them, of course. Like Miles would have it any other way!

By the way, while Miles was shoveling, Santa himself drove by in a truck to stop and chat with Miles. How lucky Miles was that he caught him being so good! Only two more days until the big day! I truly feel like a grown up now knowing that I’m in charge of making all of the Christmas morning magic happen. One of the biggest joys of being a parent is when you get the torch passed to you of creating holiday traditions for your own little family. Of course this comes with 10:30 PM trips to the grocery and staying up all night assembling bikes for under the tree. It’s all so exciting though, I can’t wait!

Oh and it goes without saying that with all the running around, baby gazing and being sick, my Christmas cards are not and will not be going out. (oh the humanity!) I’m slowly chipping away at a New Year’s card right now. Here’s hoping I can make THAT deadline. (Perhaps you will all get Valentine’s cards instead!)
