I got together with a bunch of my friends on Friday and they thought I didn’t even look pregnant at all yet. What!? Oh man. So I exhale, stand to the side and show them again. Nope, no convincing. (Unless I was sitting down, then I guess I did.)
Well, it must have been the 9 layer Mexican dip I helped polished off over the next few days, because over the weekend at some point, we think I popped.
Here’s my belly, at 12 weeks, just knocking on the door of the second trimester. I’m not wearing my wedding ring in this photo. So scandalous, huh?
Now that I’m starting to feel and look pregnant, this is finally starting to become real to me. We are in limbo right now, waiting on this studio space to open. (The photo above was taken in our living room, with my studio stuff crammed in there, not the best photography set up.) Once we get things shuffled around and out to the studio, things are going to start happening fast. Once John’s office is outta here, I can move my office out of Miles’ old nursery upstairs and down into John’s soon to be old office. (I’m DYING to paint it a new color, as it’s a deep red, but who on earth has time?) Then we can start the process of making the second bedroom upstairs a nursery again with Miles’ nursery furniture. That means we need to get Miles a big boy bedroom set of his own.
Miles LOVES his crib and despite the fact he has been known to escape the house many times, he’s not one to escape his bed. So we will be dealing with the transition to a big boy bed months (and probably years) later than most parents do. Getting rid of that crib is like getting rid of a huge security blanket for us. I mean, you put him in bed and if he’s not jazzed about sleeping, he flops around for a little while before he goes to sleep. So man, once he’s free to roam around his room, or open the door and get out, I can only imagine how long it will get him to go to bed. I’m hoping I have lots of energy in the second trimester to deal with that drama.
Enough of my babbling. Coming up next, pics of my family from tonight’s messing around shoot.
your baby bump=perfection! your sweater/dress=gorgeous! Good luck on the crib transition, Oliver is 3 1/2 and we still haven’t done it…but soon.
You do have a baby bump! You look so cute.
I am curious about the whole crib/bed issue. My son is 20 months and incredibly inquisitive. he has already locked me out of the house (how he was able to slide a double-pane sliding glass door that has to be in just the right position is beyond me). I think I will need to transition him out of the pack ‘n play where he sleeps now into a bed, but I dread bedtime. I am going to place a baby gate in the door frame to prevent him from wandering the house when he wakes up. I shudder to imagine what he might get into…
So. Stinkin. Cute. Love that sweater.
BETSY! You look adorable! As always! Can’t wait to watch that baby grow! 🙂

You look amazing!!! You’re definitely one of those annoyingly perfect women that is all belly 😉 I hope I am as lucky if I ever have a baby! Love the sweater/dress you have on.
you never know, the transition to the real bed could be a lot easier for miles than you think! i worried over it with both of my older two kids–i was sure it was going to be a nightmare. but instead it was very easy, not even one night of struggling. good luck!
You are beautiful! (and that sweater is darling) Love the picture, love the belly. Lots of fun transitions coming up!!

You are scandalous…no wedding ring! 🙂 Introducing the big boy bed does open the flood gates to roaming around the room. Battling that! Wish I had good advice for it, if you find out let us know!
What a cute baby bump!! And the dress/sweater is GORGEOUS!! I know that feeling about popping overnight…when I was about 5 months with my son I left on vacation in regular clothes…and had to stop for maternity clothes on vacation b/c I grew out of EVERYTHING I had brought!! 🙁
Thanks everybody!
The dress is no biggie, just got it at Kohl’s last year. I’ve only worn it once and for this photo. ; )
