Unless this is your first time reading this blog, you know that my best friend Amy is getting married soon. She is THE BOMB and I’m over the moon happy that she is getting married. We have both been in and to a million weddings, but as much as Amy might be over the fuss of it all, I’m not. So when it came time to throw her a bridal shower, I knew I had to try to make it as great as I could.
So I started out with her invites, printed with a gorgeous pearl finish on 5×7 card stock. (Thank goodness I just started providing custom cards this year for my clients, because it made doing her invites super fun.) That photo of her is from the wedding I photographed of Cassie & Jason last year with Bobbi.
It was a laid back day of laughter, food, a few happy tears and more laughter. Amy has the most amazing friends and the whole afternoon went by way too fast. I attempted to photograph it while hosting it, so here’s a bit of the day.
One of the best things was finally meeting the amazing women in Amy’s life who I had heard about for years, but hadn’t met. Here’s her friend from Law School who had prayed for my late husband during his cancer and read my cancer blog religiously. Wow, it’s so amazing to meet people to this day who lifted me up and I never knew. Amy has such an awesome group of people surrounding her. I love her brighting smiling face here. That’s so the Amy I know.
Of course, what’s a shower without lots of pretty little frilly things?
Meet my new BFF and fellow bridesmaid, Sarah. The great thing about being in a wedding is meeting some great new friends. Oh we are going to have SO much fun!!!!
My favorite thing about preparing for the shower was dreaming up the favor bags. We had them spread all over the room for people to munch on the goodies inside. (Inside: summery salt water taffy and Amy’s favorite, Mike & Ike’s.)
and here’s the Maid of Honor, Jannell, my partner in throwing everything together. (and boy, we were still throwing things together at the very last minute!)
I had asked Amy’s friends to send me photos of themselves with Amy, or of Amy through the years and they played on a slideshow throughout the shower. I hoped it made the people that couldn’t come seem to be there in a small way.
The day went by so fast, I have a feeling her wedding will be the same way! I have had a BLAST doing as much as I can to hopefully make the days leading to her wedding feel special. Amy has been such an amazing friend to me for the past 15 years and I’m so excited she’s getting married to her perfect mate.
Here’s a little slideshow of the highlights of her day. I feel so honored to be called her friend and can’t wait to see the blessings marriage will bring into her life. (And yes, I am already dreaming of the day when I get to plan her baby shower….CAN’T WAIT!!!)
I am sure she had a blast!!! Love those favor bags!
Do you have a link to the photo slide show that you played at the shower?
Great pics.! I helped with a shower for Amy in MN. It looks like you really know how to throw a party! I look forward to meeting all the wonderful women soon.

These are all such great ideas – you are an awesome bridesmaid!! I am throwing a shower for my sis-in-law and I’m going to steal some of these ideas if that is ok with you :):)
