When John got his job with Apple, we flew out for a quick trip to Silicon Valley to give me a chance to check out the area. From the minute I stepped off the plane, I couldn’t believe how beautiful it was out there!

We stayed in Saratoga in this sweet little Inn.

Our room had this beautiful view of the wooded area surrounding the adorable town we were nestled in.

We visited Half Moon Bay and couldn’t believe how gorgeous the drive was to get there and how short of a drive it was.

We visited Apple Headquarters and had an amazing breakfast. I’m so jealous of the food the employees get to eat. It’s amazing!

A couple things I noticed about Silicon Valley were there were no billboards. Even just driving down the road is gorgeous!

We loved all the cute little down town areas of Mountian View, Cambell and Los Gatos.

The trees! Oh the trees are so beautiful out there! The trees in Los Gatos come straight out of a Dr. Suess book.

One of the things I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE about CA is how totally dog friendly it is! It’s a dream place for a crazy dog lady like me!

You can really tell a difference in how environmentally concious people and businesses are out there. There’s recycling options everywhere and of course, we popped into Whole Foods. SO excited to be near one of those!!

We drove around with one of our friends who lives out there and got a great tour of Silicon Valley. We are still stumped on where we want to settle into. Looking forward to hearing more info from our relocation person once we get out there.

One of the biggest surprises I realized while out there was just how many people we already know. John and I both have friends already out there who filled our nights with dinners. I knew I had friends out there, but I didn’t realize they would all come see us! (Come to find out, people in CA don’t mind driving so much!) We are already feeling so welcomed!!!

We are still working with a relocation person to figure out where our temporary housing is and then once we are out there, we’ll figure out where we want to settle in for good. Right now I’m just working on purging stuff from our house. I don’t want to hate myself when I’m opening boxes and kick myself for packing crap I don’t really want. So far I’ve sold three pieces of furniture that hold all our craft supplies and my office supplies, so I’m already surrounded in boxes and the packers haven’t even arrived yet!
