We knew this year would be magical with two kids who believe in santa (shhhhh, let’s hope this lasts another year!) and more presents under the tree than there really should have been. (They seem to multiply like rabbits under there!) Speaking of presents, in years past we focused on educational toys for Miles and honestly, this year, we just wanted Christmas to be pure magic and fun. So we ditched the science kits, solar system model kits and Snap Circuits and instead his morning was full of SkyLanders, race cars and flying helicopters. I have to say, it was a really fun change. The educational toys are still around, I mean, I think the proper age was about four years from now anyway! Jocelyn’s morning was full of My Little Pony, Calico Critters and Sophia the First. It was a blur of wrapping paper, cinnamon rolls and sweet joy. It really is amazing being the one who makes Christmas joy for your kids.
I have way more photos here than I should, but hey, if you say how many I’m NOT blogging, then you’d realize how much I held back.
Ahhhhh, Christmas eve magic all ready to go.
Santa put a sticky hand and glow sticks in the kid’s stocking.
Jocelyn gave Miles a little car he had wanted at the little gift shop at breakfast with Santa. He was so excited and gave Joss a big hug after he opened it.
Stamp opened a bone and then promptly hid it under the Christmas presents.
Our gift to our family was a Disney Cruise! (SO. EXCITED!) We packed up new carry-on suitcases for the kids with clues to the trip to tell them. They thought it was cool, but it hasn’t really sunk in until the last few days. No better words than to say we are SO EXCITED!
Joss got a pretty princess dress and put it on right away and didn’t take it off until it was bedtime.
I’ll talk more about it in another blog post, but we lost our sweet Whisper two days before Christmas. It was a joyful, but bittersweet Christmas without Stamp’s sister.
Merry belated Christmas from the Kings!
Merry Christmas! Your family is so beautiful. I just wanted to say I’m so sorry for the loss of your Whisper. I always enjoyed pictures of your two dogs.
The skylanders cards can be hard to keep track of! When we started with the original game several years ago, I got my daughter a little book used to hold baseball cards. It’s perfect for those skylanders cards to keep the stickers/cards/codes together. We’re using the back of the book for my son’s Disney Infinity cards now :).
Merry Christmas and Happy New Year! AmandaJ.
Hi, Betsy! It’s been awhile since I popped over, but enjoyed catching up on recent posts today. Your kids are beautiful as ever! I’m so sorry to hear that you all had to say goodbye to Whisper. I know you have documented many special moments in photos and video of Whisper.
