design for mankind photo project: post 2,3 & 4

A while back I shared with you that I was working with Erin of Design for Mankind on her outfit blog posts. I was going to blog each of the outfits she did, but she posts them twice a week, so instead of being so bloggy, I thought I would lump them together to summarize. Oh and Erin has updated all of her profile photos on her site to ones I have taken. Yay! It’s very fun to see them all blending so nicely on her site.

You can check out her full outfit posts, complete with shopping sources, at her “My Kind” section of her blog. Have fun!

I LOVE how she mixes old with new, all sorts of colors and patterns together. I’ll never forget seeing those shorts for the first time and thinking, “Holy cats, she’s wearing polka dotted shorts with a patterned top! You can DO THAT?” Why yes. Yes, you can.

Photographing Erin (Who is so incredibly sweet and kind. You’d hard pressed to find anybody nicer.) is like playing with a Barbie doll that dresses herself. (A very smart and savvy Barbie doll.)

She has such great style and really has a lot of fun getting mixing up her wardrobe. It has inspired me to get out of my yoga pants more often, even if it is just for the grocery store and summer camp pick up! Yesterday morning I was so exhausted that even after two cups of coffee (shhhhh, don’t tell Jocelyn I had two cups) I still couldn’t wake up. I felt like a zombie. So I threw my dirty hair in a pony tail, popped on this dress and the first belt I could find and whammo, instant pick me up! Thanks for the inspiration Erin!

Dressbets

By the way, yes, that’s the Tucker for Target dress that everybody has. I know it was from last fall, but it’s such a thin dress that I was comfy wearing it on a hot summer day. Oh and if my hubby is reading this, I got it on clearance for like, $11.00 or something. Two points for me, especially since I felt like at least a hundred bucks in it! (I would have felt like a million had I been wearing heels, but dude, heels and the grocery store do not mix.)

There will be more outfits soon coming on the blog, so as usual, stay tuned. Heck, I might even get dressed again between now and then. I’ll keep you posted.

I can’t help but look at the mangled roll of TP in the background of your last shot. I’d recognize Jossy’s handiwork anywhere!
