Finally! A blog template

Category: miles Category: photography

For a while now it has been on my very long list of “To Do’s” to create a template to pop my photos into when I blog. Well, tonight, we gave up our Friday night (and sacrificed my favorite jeans that got dried all the way when I forgot to take them out of the dryer because I was engrossed in photoshop) to get some odds and ends done. So here it is. A sweet and simple (emphasis on the simple) blog template. Let the branding for Betsy & John Photography continue! (If you are popping in for the first time and you don’t get our logo, our last name is King. Get it? A crown? Bobbi thought it up. Isn’t it cute? More on her in a bit.)

Of course I have to try the new template out. This photo was taken today upon the arrival of another gift from John’s brothers. Some wood blocks for Miles and he didn’t hesitate to dive right in and start playing. (I swear I didn’t wrap rubber bands around Miles’ wrists!) Oh my goodness he was so cuddly today. Twice today he just crawled up into my lap and we got to just snuggle and read and play with a toy while I got to hold him. He’s usually in explore mode, so I really got a treat to get some snuggling on such a cold yucky day outside.

So my husband is a rock star. He made it so when I’m processing my pics I just push a button on my keyboard and Wallah it automatically does about ten different actions, including saving it and adding the appropriate template and wham, it’s in my blogging folder read to blog. (BTW, he has created a TON of awesome quick keys for my blog in Textmate which are SWEET.) So there have been many happy dances going on around here as John finds ways to simplify and John is thrilled because he loves stuff like this.

Hanging out with bobbi+mike last night inspired me to get a little thing like this done. A girlfriend today asked me if we got some awesome shots since we got to hang out with them. Ha! I have enough awesome shots from our last photoshoot to last me a while. We all did snap some photos, but it was all in my candle lit living room late at night and just for toots and giggles as we played in the very fun (and $$$) toybox that are their numerous camera bags. (Next time, bobbi+mike, you need to bring that cool flash set up! Fun stuff!) Here is one shot that either Mike or John took that shows Bobbi in the background, playing with one of the cameras we had out and me sitting next to her. Of course, the pugs took center stage, which is nice for a change because they used to be our #1 subjects to shoot before Mr. Miles came along to steal the spot light. (We still have two pretty big head shots of the pugs up in our house, so Miles hasn’t completely taken over!)

Gotta get to bed, no more To Do lists stuff to check off tonight. I still need to beautify this blog and change some photos out on my website. I did add some more content to my blog tonight in the pricing page. There is actual pricing there now and not the ever elusive “contact me for pricing.” I also need to add a way to get to my site from this blog (thank you for reminding me of that Michelle.) Until then, here’s a link in case you feel like checking it out. I’m not expecting the next couple of months to be as hopping as my last three weeks have been, but who knows, maybe there are some famies out there who wants some snow pics. If so, or if you just want to check us out, here’s my site: Betsy & John Photography website. By the way, if you go to our site and you see if still taking you to John’s Metta Audio site, make sure you are refreshing because your cookies (or whatever) might just be taking you the old route.
