This summer has been filled with gorgeous nights that have most recently been graced with the presence of fireflies. The magic of how they appear, just as the sweetness of summer sets in, will never be lost on me. Upon noticing them for the first time this summer, Miles and his buddy quickly grabbed glasses from the cabinet and oddly enough, a tea pot and a wooden frying pan, to catch their flies.

This photo shows the excitement and curiosity of their little faces balanced by a measured gentleness as they hope their eagerness doesn’t scare their treasured lightening bug away.

Oh to be a child again and run through the backyard in Superman pj’s catching fireflies! I have to say, that would be awesome, but it’s pretty amazing being the mom watching it all from the sidelines.
