guess who got her wide angle lens today?

When a lens comes in the mail we drop everything, pop it on and anybody standing still (or in this case, not so still) is game to be shot. The crazy thing, as awake as Miles looks here, he’s about ten minutes away from going to bed. It’s the high before the crash.

Announcing, the happiest baby on earth. (He is OBSESSED with shoes. They are strewn all over the house and for once, it’s not my fault!)

These photos are a little backward. Miles was in the tub when the lens came, which is actually the time of day our lenses usually arrive. So my poor lenses have some crappy light to contend with for their debut shots. 😉

Yep, that’s a purple noodle we have on our shower door. Miles had the ouchiest shiner a couple weeks ago from falling on our sharp shower door edge. So daddy saved the day with a noodle cushion. Though Miles likes to chew on it now. We might just make a noodle “halo” for Miles to wear all day long. The kid sure likes to hit his head on thigs. Though bless him, he cries for like ten seconds. He amazes us. This little guy is so tough I’ve wondered at times if he has that rare condition where you don’t feel pain. I think it’s more like chronic happiness. It’s pretty awesome.

So coming up this weekend we have John’s birthday (woo hoo!) and we get to go to a wedding. My favorite thing about weddings, is seeing them in their dress for the first time walking down the aisle, cake (I seriously get excited about cake when I’m driving to the ceremony. I’m very passionate about food), getting to dance with John and watching the photographers in action. That is SOOO much fun! I try not to stare, though it’s fun! No, in all seriousness, my friend Megan is tying the knot this weekend and I’m so excited for her! I always think of my friends the whole week before their wedding because it’s all just such an exciting time. See you at the ceremony Megs!

Fun, fun, fun!!! I’ve decided I’m holding out for the 50mmL. That one makes me drool, even though I’ve never gotten to play with a fixed lens before. 😉

He looks so happy! YAY for new lenses! Oh and it’s not a rare condition I’m pretty sure at this age the nerves in their heads are not fully developed 🙂

Hi Betsy:) These are soo cute! When I first saw the first picture of Miles, I immediately could see you in his face. I think it is the smile and chin, but he looks like you in that picture! You are so funny . . . I thought I was the only one who got excited about cake at weddings! I would seriously skip the dinner and head for the cake . . . if no one would notice:) Thanks for sharing:) Anne

That lens looks like it will be a favorite of yours. These are great, thanks for putting a big smile on my face. That first one though… classic!

You know what, it really comforts me to read that you too have wondered if your little boy doesn’t feel pain… because I’ve been wondering the same about Bailey. Sometimes he goes over to a wall and bangs his head in it and then just moves on as if nothing happened. And he always has a couple of bruises somewhere, but never seems to be sore if I touch them. So, hmm… But if you have asked yourself the same thing, then maybe this is just the way babies are. Less whiney than grown-ups? 🙂

I look forward to hearing about John’s birthday and the wedding!!

I’m so with you about the boys hitting their heads. We often joke that Eli’s got a head made of concrete the number of times he’s hit it and then just kept right on truckin’!! Good thinking on the noodle… we’ve had one big biff in the tub too… don’t know who was more traumatized, Eli or me!! 🙂
