Miles is such a thinker with an imagination so thick, you can tell the line between real and imaginary in his world is paper thin. On this morning he was wearing a mask (just because) and making up a story for me to write down for him. Somedays I feel like the lead weight to his soaring balloon. He’s not interested in learning to play the piano. He already knows a million great songs! Why play a board game when you can make your own adventure with all the pieces? Let’s read this magazine, but only after he tears out all the pages and staples it back in the order he likes. John and I just sit back and watch him go. If there was ever a kid who marched to the beat of his own drum, it’s Miles.

Mask

These are truly the most beautiful, precious, crazy-wonderful days of my life.
