This month I’m starting a monthly self portrait. I’ve got friends who have done them and they are fascinating to look back and remember what they were doing in their life during each month. Plus, I barely get in photos these days, so I figure it would be fun for the kids to look back and remember what I looked like at this stage in their life.
So here’s me in January, 2011. I’m always on the go, pony tail (with a million hairs holding on for dear life sticking out) with baby carrier in one hand and Miles in the other. Oh and my cowboy boots on. Always my cowboy boots, those dear, dear soles. (Pun intended! My father would be proud.) Here’s my attempt at a playboy bunny pose, mom style.
This is the look I sport 90 percent of the time. Miles clearly appears to have to pee here, but is holding it until the verrrrrry last second. These days, he likes to live on the edge.
Here’s me on the go. You can’t catch me! Ok, maybe you can. Those baby carriers weigh a TON!
You would think as a photogapher I would know to face my body towards the light. Must remember that for next month’s challenge.
Ok, I’ve fooled around much too long and feeling 20 shades of guilty that I’m not showering or cleaning the kitchen with this precious pre-school time. Gotta GO!
I realize a true self portrait should just have me in it. But these days, I’m NEVER alone. Oh and next month will just be one photo. : ) There’s just too many rules for me to follow, I guess.
You look adorable … and I love the boots! (What can I say .. I’m a Texas girl and boots make me happy.)
Yay!! I love them! So fun that you posted more than one, too. 🙂 I started my 12 month self-portrait project today, too… how fun!!
Losing your hair is NOT in your head! When Ava was about 3 months old my hair started to fall out in clumps when I would shower. I had a noticeable bald patch near my right temple. You are beautiful Betsy, a few missing clumps of hair won’t change that.
Adorable! I oohed and ahhed over Gail’s last year. Where are the rules for this project? I think I should challenge myself to it. Seems to be more of a manageable challenge than Project365.
Love it! You look awesome:) I’m so excited to do these every month now too!
These are so cute! I’m doing the self portrait thing this year (thanks for the idea, Gail!) & am excited that you’re doing it too!
Self-depricating humor is right up my alley, so I love this. I’m so glad Gail got us all on board with the self-portrait project! P.S. Please do share what kind of diaper bag you are carrying. At the moment, this decision is the bain of my existence.
Diaper Bag: It’s a Diaper Dude! I can clip it to a shopping cart, which is great!
Great photos!! I like your bag! Where did you get it? 😉
How in the world are you so TINY so soon after having your second baby!?
I think you still look great! My kids are older, the youngest one is 14, I’m still carrying around the baby weight!
So cute. You and your family is adorable … and I love Miles’ little skinny jeans!
Love it! Maybe I should jump on this self portrait bandwagon a bit late?
You are such a beautiful mommy! Love the boots BTW.!
