i’ve got a three month old & a monkey

Believe it or not, Jocelyn turned three months old this past week. It’s such a cliche, but man, the older you get (and the more kids you have) time really starts to blow your mind and become harder to wrap your heard around. So our little punkin is three months now and SO much fun. I don’t want to jinx myself, but she really is such an easy baby and just so happy and such a little charmer. Her smiles (which is have yet to capture much of with my camera) just KILL me. Every morning, instead of waking up to her crying, I come in and she’s greets me with ear to ear grins. After spending all of my 20’s cringing at crying babies in restaurants and airplanes, I figured that once I had a baby I would now be the one to bring on the annoyed looks of passersby. However, it’s so much fun to have strangers stop in the street to oooh and ahhhh, people smile as you pass by in the grocery store or watch as people in restaurants make sweet faces at the baby your husband is burping at the table. I suppose considering I was doing the cringing at babies in the past, I don’t deserve this adoring karma, but I sure am enjoying it.

While Miles was at preschool last week, I made my first solo attempt at the studio to grab some photos of her. Well, it’s incredibly hard to take photos of your own kid. Incredibly hard and not so productive. I wasn’t able to get any smiles out of her that morning, which duh, I broke the #1 rule I always told my clients, “Don’t bring a sleepy or hungry kid to a shoot.” She didn’t start out hungry, but of course ended up that way and was sleepy the whole time. Oh well, we’ll try it again soon. So here’s my sleepy little girl who has just taken our hearts by storm. We think she is the most beautiful little girl in the whole wide world. 🙂

Here’s me trying to get her to sit up in a chair. I’m holding her belly with one hand and snapping a photo with the other.

Meanwhile, as Jocelyn was turning 3 months, Miles got to wear his halloween costume to Kindermusik, which is always the cutest class out of the whole year. Here he is showing his teacher a shaker he made at home.

We have the BEST Kindermusik class EVER. All the parents of the kids in the class have become great friends and our kids all get along so great and are so comfortable around each other. Our class is in the evening now and we all go out to dinner together (a party of 15-20 people most times) after class and as crazy as it sounds, it’s become our favorite night of the week. I never realized how having a child would bring so many awesome new friends into my life. (Actually, I can say the same thing about blogging too!)

Here’s another shot of Miles in his costume and one of his sweet little princess friends whose mom I just adore. (and of course I love that sweet little girl too!)

I gotta get to bed. Tomorrow is Halloween and I still have pumpkins to carve and candy to buy! We headed out of town for a quick little overnight trip Thursday with my parents and it was just wonderful, but wore us out. So I need to rest up for my favorite holiday tomorrow!

P.S. We paraded Avram around in the bear costume tonight & drew our own oo’s & ah’s 🙂

i’m sure you guys get this every day, but those eyelashes…they’re KILLER! 🙂 beautiful girl…AND, i love that you guys have kindermusik in the US – i only began to hear of it from my swiss mama friends after we made the big move. it seems to be a super program – and it looks like miles really enjoys it. glad to know that if we are lucky enough to enroll a little one in kindermusik here someday, we’d likely find the program wherever home ends up being…back home, too. 😉 have a great day, betsy!
