Johnny Appleseed Festival is our yearly touchstone that tells us that fall really is here. Even though we miss the carefree days of summer, the festival reminds us that fall is fun and beautiful too. The snap in the morning air, the savory smells of the chicken & dumplings, kettle corn popping and the whistling songs of the fife and drum band roaming the Johnny Appleseed park, it’s all a welcome ballad to a new season. Our children have grown to love the festival too and it’s so wonderful to experience it all through their eyes. Come along with us and experience a day with the Kings at the festival.

Here’s a few of my favorite photos from the day.

Only at the festival will a random kid run up to you and start having a sword and ax fight with your kid. Miles was thrilled to finally have a worthy adversary.

The boyscouts and their leader do an awesome job of guiding kids through games. They are so patient with the kids, it’s Miles’ favorite part.

Jocelyn asked to make a necklace and chose all her colors, pink, pink, pink, purple and yellow.

My mom and aunt Joan stopped by. The kids were THRILLED to see them!

Thanks for checking out our favorite event! You can find more information on the festival at the festival’s official website.
