mini sessions for chelsa

Chelsamini Finalflier

If you have followed my blog you know of beautiful Chelsa and her precious family. She was a past client of mine who was diagnosed with breast cancer a couple years ago. After months of treatment, I photographed her family around Christmas time. It was such a beautiful experience for me to photograph them during a time that I know was such a vulnerable, raw, yet very precious time of closeness in their life. A year later it was such a joy to photograph them again as she healed during remission. Chelsa and her family are well loved in this community as they are truly a beautiful family full of love and light. Her children are similar ages of my own children, so I’ve always felt a common bond with her in that aspect. We all thought that cancer was just going to be a bump in the road for them.

Another year is upon us and I’m heartbroken to share with you that her cancer is back. It’s in her bones and her liver now. You can read about Chelsa’s cancer journey on her blog. I sit here with tears brimming, remembering so deeply the anguish & fear that cancer recurrence brings and my heart hurts so badly that Chelsa and her family has to walk this road. I recall the three times my late husband’s cancer showed up and It’s so incredibly hard to pick yourself up to fight AGAIN.

I could write all night about that, but I’m not here for that. I”m here to share that I had to do SOMETHING to help Chelsa and her family. I remember how much the medical bills and travel expenses piled up when my late husband had cancer and I wanted to try to ease that for them. Or perhaps it could be money to go towards something special for the family to do together, whatever they need or want. I want to give them something to help and I wanted to give other people in this community a way to help too. Everybody has their own ways of helping people with cancer. After I experienced cancer in my own family, I decided that my way to help people enduring cancer would be to give money. Money allows people the freedom to release the stresses of bills so they can focus on healing and giving and receiving love.

So I’m partnering up with the very talented and generous Kayte Patterson of Legacy Portraits to do a mini session day with 100% of the money going to Chelsa Demarchis.

I am doing a day of black and white mini sessions for groups of six people or less. Please contact me through my contact form if you are interested in booking a session. I have all my spots filled, but with cold & flu season, I would love to create a waiting list in case any sessions cancel.

Kayte of Legacy Portraits does an gorgeous job capturing babies (You can see her work on the walls of Women’s Health Advantage) so she will be doing studio sessions for infants (0-12 months) and also older children in groups of 3 children or less. Please click HERE to contact Kayte and book your spot with her. Her sessions will be at her studio.
