Aside from high school seniors, my favorite thing to photograph are little girls, and Ruhama was no exception. What a treat this little pumpkin was! Her mom had told me ahead of time that “Ru” can be a bit shy when meeting new people. She said not to give her a lot of attention and let her warm up to me. So, when I met them at our session location, I laid out my quilt and started pulling out Jocelyn’s my favorite toys. Without even looking at her I just started playing and chatting with her parents. It didn’t take long for her to be very curious about what I was doing and she jumped right in! It also helped that I had a toy I’ve seen all ages impressed with, this “working” toy potty. Perhaps not the most attractive toy to put in a photo, but it’s an ice breaker! (I can’t believe I snuck out of the house with one of Jocelyn’s favorite dolls!)

By the end of the session we were playing peek a boo. Yay, toddler charming success! She’s just as precious as can be, Jocelyn would eat her up! (Ruhama, you are welcome for play dates with us anytime!)

I get to photograph her older sister’s senior photos soon, which is awesome because I have fallen in love with her family already! Mom and dad, do I get to do a whole family session anytime soon? wink? Here’s your slideshow with music written by my husband, John.
