my new babysitters and other good ideas

Granted, my new babysitters don’t have opposable thumbs, so changing diapers is out of the question, but they are very attentive.

 mg 1000 Edit

(Poor pugs, I’m always so focused on Miles (literally) that they don’t always get much “in focus” time from my camera.)

Btw, if you are wondering why Miles has a sock over his sippy cup, it’s because it’s a Klean Kanteen sippy and the stainless steel cup, when full of a cold beverage, is freezing to hold. So I throw a sock on it. Why do we have a stainless steel sippy? Well, first of all, they are indestructible. Trust me, the tops have gone through the garbage disposable and Miles has chucked the sippy on our tile floor about 8 million times and it’s still holding water. Also, stainless steel is cleaner than plastic and doesn’t make liquids taste like plastic. We have grown up Klean Kanteens too, to wean ourselves off of buying plastic water bottles.

Another good idea we have had around here is Kindermusik. I’ve already talked about it a lot, so I won’t babble on. I just wanted to let everybody know that spring registration is February 9th and from what I hear, the classes fill up quickly. (Though last fall John and I signed up at 11 PM online the night before the next day’s morning class. So you never know.) If you are in Fort Wayne and you are wondering which class to chose, pick one of Cindy G’s classes. She is an awesome, AWESOME teacher and a professional musician as well. She really keeps that balance between keeping the class moving but still goes with the flow and watches what the kids need. She pulls it off perfectly. So it’s good stuff. Oh, and of course, tell ’em Betsy King sent ya. 😉

Oh, and for all of you iphone mamas, check out the Peekaboo Barn App. (Yes, I know, I’m quoting Ohdeedoh.com two days in a row. I need to get a life!) I just might have to jump on this one. (Though shhhh, don’t tell John, it’s $1.99) I’m not a fan of video games (yet) but there is a peekaboo game on SesameStreet.org that blows Miles’ mind. Playing this game with Miles might be a sneaky way to get him in my lap so I can get some snuggles in.

Gotta run and get back to work. I know it doesn’t look like I’m working based on my blog, but I really am still working and I promise you’ll see evidence of that soon on my blog! I also promise that my blog is not going to turn into a mommy & me party every day. It’s just that my life has pretty much been me, Miles and my computer (plus LOTS of snowed in time) working away on some non-creative stuff that I’m looking forward to getting done. This can make me a dull woman. Or at least a woman that obsesses over kiddie stuff. So hang in there everybody. I will be much more multifaceted soon. (Though you know I always have Miles around, and love it, so the Miles photos won’t be coming to a halt anytime soon.)

PS I just updated my portfolio link at the upper left hand side of my blog header. Once it loads, just hit play and the photos will flip by. Enjoy!

We have Kleen Kanteens for our whole family as well, and I love the sock idea! Your little guy is adorable! (BTW, I have been checking out your blog for forever now, and thought I’d finally come out of hiding. I think I found your blog through a cloth diapering website. We CD as well, I love photography, and I have a son the same age as yours. Thanks for all the inspiration!)

What a great pic! So sweet and I love his little babydoll! So everytime I try to look at your portfolio my mac completely freezes up…is it just me? I do have an older computer but wondering if anyone else is having the same problem? Any ideas?! 🙂

Again, another reason to have an IPhone! And love the kanteens. We use the Safe Sippy and it has a rubber holder over it that helps with the cold factor.
