oh these winter days

We had seven days in a row where Miles wasn’t at school, plus Jocelyn has been going through a climbing on EVERYTHING phase, so to say my days have been full is an understatement. I’ve been dreaming up as many crafts as I can to keep the cabin fever at bay so that means very little time at my computer. I actually thought this month was going to be a dead one shooting wis, but I was lucky enough to get some last minute commercial work, plus I’ve been squeezing in little shoots here and there. So what I thought would be a sleepy month easing into the new year has actually been quite busy.

Here’s a peek into what the last few weeks have looked like with my kids. On the days that I collapse on the couch, wishing for some alone time, I have to remember that this is my LAST winter having a couple of days with Miles at home with me before he goes to kindergarten next year. Gulp! Here’s how we try to make the best of our time:

Here are some reference links in case you see something interesting in the photos:

Snap Circuits. The box says these are for ages 8 and up, but even Jocelyn loves building electrical mechanisms with us. You can see her here enjoying that toy.

Winter can be a little tough with kids. My boys start climbing the walls sometimes! Thanks for the ideas!

I love that you have amazing educational and fun toys for your kids! My gf does too, but she doesn’t believe in Disney! It’s not educational. I can see that, but man, it’s such a huge part of our childhoods.
