our weekend full of christmas love

I can’t make the pain or the fear that the shooting in Connecticut has caused, go away. I did what I could do in my own little word this past weekend and just stayed close to home and loved on my kiddos. John and I would sneak in some news coverage when the kids were in the other room and stand in shock and disbelief of the horror. There’s that saying that says, “Be the change you wish to see in the world”, so we did just that for our kiddos in our own small way. We played Christmas music, put together Legos, visited Santa at PetSmart with the pugs, did some Christmas crafting and drove around looking for Christmas lights in our jammies. Here’s a little peek into our weekend.

A friend had sent the kids some surprises and they had a blast getting some early Christmas surprises.

After dinner we made a last minute decision to pop some kettle korn and go out to see the lights. The kids LOVED this adventure!

Here’s a little video of the kiddos playing with their Santa house.

It feels selfish posting photos of my kids, when I know there are empty arms out there. I’m trying to just keep things normal here and let love being the prevailing feeling here in my family, not sadness. Hope you are all finding a way to bring peace in your own little world.
