stamp story time

While John reads Miles’ bedtime stories…

Stamp is listening intently from under Miles’ crib.

Ever since Miles was a baby, Stamp would come running when it’s story time to snuggle in. So story time is called, “Stamp Story Time.” We used to read stories sitting in our big red chair with the pugs squeezed in where they could fit. As Miles grew, they became even more like real siblings as Stamp would start to relax and hog Miles’ space, Miles would elbow stamp away saying, “Moooooove!!!!” However, there’s no room on our (hideous) glider in Miles’ room, so Stamp finds her spot under the bed, her little face always peeping out from under the dust ruffle. She’s such a good, good pug and amazingly gentle and protective of Miles.

We will often hear a scratching upstairs after we have put Miles to bed and it will be one of the pugs, shut in his room after snoozing during story time and can’t get out.

It has to also be mentioned that the Highlights High Five magazine (geared towards kids younger than the Highlights magazine) that John is reading has rocked our world. Miles flips out getting them in the mail every month and we read them cover to cover and do all the puzzels. (Thanks mom!)

Whew! This has been a busy week of blogging lots of client work, a couple of shoots, and I’m hoping to have another shoot up here on the blog very soon. (Hint for my clients: Next up is an engagement shoot!) Tomorrow isn’t a work day for me, but perhaps Miles’ nap time in the afternoon will be a productive one. I’m reallllly hoping to squeeze an AM session in this Saturday and I really would love to shoot in dry weather for a change!

Have a great Friday everybody! (Man, how the heck is it FRIDAY ALREADY?!)

Of the three ‘cousins’, Stamp has the highest intellectual ability. …she’s smart. I’m not real sure about the other two!

I am thinking about getting him kids National Geographic. He is so hungry for knowledge. just like grandpa, who at 75 just returned from a camping trip school, learning how to survive in the woods. He learned how to get a heart attack person alive until helps come. Miles needs to have a talk with him soon. love him so.

That is so cute! Dogs just add to the family in so many wonderful ways. Btw – how do you guys like Highflyer? I’ve been thinking about getting that recently.

You SO make me want Pugs. 😉 Alas… there is no way to convince my husband… although if there was a breed that would make him cave into dog ownership it would be pugs. 🙂
