the king kids take on a wedding

The photographer who shot our best friend’s wedding in Puerto Rico just blogged the pics tonight. Yay! It was so wonderful to remember how precious the ceremony was and of course how wonderful it was to play in the sun with our kids and friends. That trip wrapped up such a dreamy year of travel for us that I can barely stand the thought of enduring another Indiana winter of hermit mode after all the wonderful places we have been in 2011.

If you would like to see some photos of the wedding, you can see them here on sweet Courtney Reece’s blog. (Hi Courtney!)

Having your children in a wedding is an honor, a bit pricey, a lot of work but the coolest thing in the world. There’s nothing like seeing your kids all dressed up, acting like sweet little perfect angels and taking your breath away as they walk down the aisle. Oh and in front of a ton of people, no less. It’s like a mom’s dream. I would do it a million times! (I suppose it’s like having your kid in a pageant, but not having to compete against anybody and all the fake teeth, hair and spray tans. Ha!)

Seriously though, it was such a huge honor to have John and our two kids in the wedding and I cried happy tears through the whole thing. We love our friend Chris so much and he has found such a wonderful woman in Nicole, and in his new step daughter Daniele who is just precious.

I snagged these pics off of Courtney’s blog.

Oh my goodness, these photos just KILL me! Jocelyn walked down the aisle all by herself at only sixteen months old and Miles was like a little prince walking down the aisle. He had perfected his walk earlier in the day and had this hilariously adorable side to side head turn down pat as well. He took his ring bearer job very seriously. He even had the real rings tied to that pillow!

Here’s some hilarious shots Courtney captured during dinner of Joss. She’s such a little mimic and always wants to be like the grown ups! Everyone was so wonderful to our kids during this wedding. Everybody was so happy to have them around, it was just such a great time filled with love and joy. We are so glad we didn’t miss it!

Ok, I’ll shush now. No more mom raving from me about my kids. Here’s a bit more of the wedding day from my iphone though. If you are wondering why I’m making that crazy face in one of the photos it’s because I’m amazed we got everybody dressed for the wedding in twenty minutes time. Whew!

That dress fit the bride really well. Strange comment, but that’s the thing I noticed the most. I hate poor-fitting wedding dresses!
