waiting wednesday

I’ve been sick. So sick that I haven’t been in the office for five days. So I will get my act together soon and get emails replied, new things up on the blog and all that jazz.

Until then, I thought I would post a quickie pic of Miles playing with a toy he got on Valentine’s day. Those lips! They were the FIRST thing I noticed when Miles was born. He loves playing on the couch we have for the studio space. We all love it, actually. We’ll all miss it when it gets moved into the studio space.

Oh yes, the studio space! Remember that? (Enter eye roll here.) Yes, we are now mere days (instead of weeks) away from getting into our studio space. We feel like nerds waiting for a very late prom date as the move in date has kept getting pushed back every week. However, we are so close now, we can taste it. We are so OVER waiting to get in there and just wish everyday now that, “Hey, maybe today is THE day we get keys!” Seriously though, the space is done, it’s just the final tweaks after the inspection we are waiting for. (AHHHHHH!)

We are so excited, but have to admit we are starting to get nervous because this move will bring a HUGE domino effect of change into our life that we can’t help but feel a little scared. So many of my friends have told me they would pay anything to have their husband’s home with them during the day. And now, we are going to be doing the opposite, sending John away all day after having him home all this time. Our family has been so fortunate to have the most amazing freedom and closeness these past few years without daddy going away from 8-5 Mon-Fri every week. That also means we have been pretty loosey goosey with our life, letting work leak into every hour of any time of day, that we feel like making some boundaries with work has to be a good thing in our life. Who knows, maybe the grass is just always greener. Regardless, I keep reminding myself that we still own our businesses, so I’ll still have John at the really important stuff like music class and OB appointments.

Remember that domino effect of change I mentioned? Once we get in the studio space we get to start moving three rooms in this house around including finally starting the NURSERY! (Though I’m no interior designer, so don’t get too excited…) Of course, that also means I get to start shooting in the studio. Which, I will be talking more about soon, but to anybody still reading, I released my available dates to my waiting list from last fall and I’m all booked up for this year. So I’ll be making that announcement soon in some more eye catching way.

Nighty night! I REALLY, REALLY hope I can stop being ALL TALK about our studio space very soon….like THIS WEEK! I’ll keep you guys posted.
