miles’ world

I mentioned Miles’ babysitter, Kathy last night. Well, even when I don’t take him over there, at the end of the day when Kathy is waiting for the mom’s to pick their boys up, we sometimes go out and play with them. It gives me a chance to get to know Kathy and the other…

hi, i’m holly rouse. i came across your photography on facebook while leafing through cassie and jason’s engagement pictures. i’m 17, about to be a senior, and live in cincinnati (i know cassie and jason through two of their best friends, brittany and joel). in all honesty, i am absolutely in love with your photography; it truly captures life and emotion with every single shot. i’m throwing around the idea of being a photographer at the moment, so for my senior pictures, i want something really special and “organic”–nothing “posey” or fake. okay, i think i’m rambling. but my point is, you’d be my first choice as a photographer. it’s disappointing that i’m in cincinnati!

story time with daddy

Every night, before Miles goes to bed, we snuggle up in the big red chair and read some books with Miles. Stamp ALWAYS has to join us by squeezing herself in and bless her heart, she endures little kicks and toe pinches from Miles. She is the most tolerant dog ever. Can you see her…

Beautiful shots! And it looks a lot like that at our place too – toys and books everywhere. However, Bailey is not ready to really sit still and look at pictures in a book yet (he’s thirteen months now). He just takes off with the book in one hand, ripping pages with the other. I really hope that will change since we’re all about books here, me and Dad. He also seem to love trucks and balls – so much for trying to raise him in a gender neutral way! And I saw the SATC movie last week and can’t wait to see it again – loved it!! (btw – the photo shelf looks amazing!)

dad’s day fun

Happy Father’s day everyone! John and I had a sweet little day that started out with an adventurous breakfast at Flat Top Grill that was YUMMMY! Even Miles was saying, “Ummmmy!” the whole time. If you haven’t been there for their weekend breakfasts yet, go treat yourself! Then we headed next door to Barnes &…

first attempt at going big and I can’t wait to go bigger!

I sat down to blog and two and a half hours later I have written the story of how I became a photographer, starting with me in the third grade. Wow. It feels so good to get it off my chest. I may blog it if I can wake up in the morning and not…

Introducing, Penny Pickles! What is Penny Pickles, you ask? Well, my dear friend Annie, who I think our friendship is going on nine years now, just started her own business of creating hand painted wall pieces. Betsy – so sorry to hear that Miles did not make it into the top 2. I thought you had this one in the bag! My Mom and I voted each time. Oh well, we still think he is pretty darn cute! 🙂

  • Anne WoehnkerJune 13, 2008 - 8:21 pm

Hi Betsy:) I am so bummed Miles didn’t make it to top 2 . . .all I can say is that the final two must have a HUGE voting committee b/c (not that they aren’t cute), but Miles had them waaaaay beat. Miles has my vote anyday:)

  • LindseyJune 15, 2008 - 2:55 pm

Aww, I can’t believe Miles didnt make it!! We thought for sure it would be Ava and Miles (in fact, Avas mommy was sweating it on how she could beat Miles, LOL). We were just certain that is what it would be!! Miles is still super cute!!

    Lindsey, Christopher and Madalyn

I agree with Lindsey,Chris & Madalyn – it should of been Ava & Miles! They are both darling and actually my mom and I have been voting for the two of them during this contest! By the way Betsy, love your website!! What beautiful pictures you capture!
