Betsy’s favorite things

Category: personal All right folks, we all know about Oprahโ€™s famous favorite things. Now, I love seeing all the fun things she finds, but I CANโ€™T stand listening to women scream on TV. So, just because itโ€™s Christmas time, and Iโ€™m feeling random (and have been procrastinating these days, though still getting tons done I…

Such a GREAT idea! I have been following your blog for a while (and even voted for Miles in that baby contest…he was SO much cuter than the baby who won) and I always love how open you are with your life. Plus, I love your work. : )

I really need to try that tea, i’ve seen it mentioned so many times on your blog and I looovvee tea. I think any spa is a favorite of mine. What I wouldn’t do for a massage right now! One of my favorite things is Bare Escentuals Make Up. Love it all and the buxom lip gloss is awesome!

My favorite thing is going to come after Christmas, I’m sure…working toward a 5Dmk1 and 24-70mmL lens. Those are my itches. Otherwise, my Alien Bee strobe in pink and my little boy. He knows when Mama needs a kiss and snuggle…thankfully he’s not too busy for me yet.

    My favorite things:

Google Chrome – so much faster than IE and doesn’t crash on Vista! (Hubby won’t do Macs) IGoogle – Now I can have my news, email, RSS subs, and Fractal of the Day (yes, I’m a geek) all on one page! Sonlight Curriculum – 80% of our school day is pre-planned and the books are awesome. I’m learning as much as the kids are! My Diva Cup – white sheets? Bring ’em on! Netflix – Little red envelopes of joy. Soap Nuts – Lovin’ the laundry. Between the nuts and the frontloader, the kids are doing most of the laundry.

Hello Betsy, John and Miles:) I just wanted to say that so far I have ordered the book you suggested, Harry The Dirty Dog, from Amazon and can’t wait until it arrives to read to my son. And, last night I was at Fresh Market and saw your Mrs. Meyers cleaner and bought it in Lemon Verbena. It is AWESOME! I lOVE the smell too. I even bought the hand lotion in it. Okay, that is all I can afford right now . . . ๐Ÿ™ . . . .but will keep your other favorites in mind when more $$$ comes my way:) Thank you so much for your suggestion! I REALLY want to try that laundry soap you mentioned. Where do you buy it?? Wishing all of you a wonderful Christmas and very happy new year ahead! I still really enjoy stalking your blog . . . you guys are so CUTE and entertaining to read:) Love, Anne and Noah

So I’ve been trying to think of something i love… I’ve decided on NetFlix! I was not a believer for a long time, but in the winter, I think it’s a must ๐Ÿ™‚ I’ve always wanted UGG boots, but never bought them. I’m contemplating buying knockoffs for christmas this year for myself!

  • MayaDecember 8, 2008 - 9:06 pm

I am about ready to run out of my expensive natural detergent and want to switch. I’ll have to check that stuff out! Can you get it at Whole Foods?

This makes a good Christmas list! ๐Ÿ™‚

  • olivia feyDecember 10, 2008 - 1:36 pm

me too… where do you buy the laundrey detergent. I have been wanting to get something more environment friendly but is still for front loading washers.

Sigh Tell me more about shooting full frame… I haven’t been able to explain to the Hub why it’s time to upgrade my Nikon D80 to the D700.

My latest (affordable) fav is this Etsy find: http://www.etsy.com/viewlisting.php?listingid=18339778 If you’ve ever heard of Mommy Tags, these are a cheaper alternative. I love mine!

Second fav is my new MacBook Pro. Can’t keep my hands off this baby!

Fun post Betsy! ๐Ÿ™‚ p.s I grew up with Harry the Dirty Dog and found a beautiful hardcover book with all the stories in one for my kids years ago. Ahh, the memories!

I LOVE this entry…It gave me a few ideas. ๐Ÿ™‚ First off I can NEVER find a pair of jeans that I like….soo I’m making a trip to H&M and checking out the selection. Also, last night while up in the Fort doing some Christmas shopping I came across the Granite City. When I first read this entry I kept going back to the Granite City pic trying to remember where it was in the Fort. DUH! Right in front of Target. When I saw it last night I yelled “Oh my gosh there it is.” I might have scared everyone in the car but at least I figured it out…lol

Also, where id you buy your California Baby Wash? I’m an Arbonne consultant so I use our baby wash b/c it’s all natural.I LOVE their baby line, but sometimes I’d like something with scent in it.

Yarn Shoppe Kids: The Movie

I have been smiling all morning creating Lori and Flemmingโ€™s slideshow of their kids. These kids are hilarious. So hereโ€™s Charlie, Sophie and Max, with their dog, Dwayne the Chihuahua and of course, a bit of Mom and Dad thrown in. (P.S. If Miles would have been a girl, he would have been a Sophie!)…

life with miles

Not very long ago, โ€œLife with Milesโ€ was the title of my blog. Well, tonight, we are back to what life with Miles looks like. Yea, I let Miles paint in the kitchen while I cook. Sometimes he paints, sometimes he just wants to play with the paint bottles. Of course I thought it was…

  • Jessica ParkisonDecember 3, 2008 - 8:20 pm

I love the “messy” picture. We are the same way, doesn’t bother us to an extent. It’s part of me rebelling against my mom since I can’t once remember being messy when i was a child. Love the curly hair and those scarves are on my xmas list!

  • Sherry SmithDecember 4, 2008 - 5:09 am

Grandma says, ” You must show how much Miles look’s like his “Papaa Smith” You gave him the genius part…..Pleeeease

Miles is adorable, and your hair is gorgeous!!

I like stripes

Canโ€™t you tell? ๐Ÿ˜‰ Iโ€™m processing this shoot right now and this photo from John cracked me up. I honestly had no idea that I was wearing that many different types of stripes that day. PS For the photogs out there, those gloves are PERFECT for keeping warm during cold shoots, but you can still…
