our day of away-ness

In four and a half years, my husband and I havenโ€™t spent a day alone together. Yes, we have left the kids for an entire day and evening to attend out of town parties or something, but just the two of us? Nope. Well, this year for Johnโ€™s birthday, I told him that we were…

Where are the rest of the pictures???? ๐Ÿ˜‰

My hubs and I are planning a WEEK away next month to Roatan Honduras for our 15 year anniversary (that was actually yesterday). I absolutely hate the two of us getting on a plane without our kids, but I know it will be so good for us and our marriage. And I truly believe there is no better gift to our kids than a strong marriage. We went to Costa Rica for our 10 year anniversary and it was amazing and so good for us.

Glad you were able to get away and enjoy yourselves!

I went on California Screamin’ at Disneyland and was so ill feeling after, my head, my back, my stomach. It has only been 9 months, so maybe by the time I go again, I will have forgotten how bad it made me feel and try again. I think my problem is I was so tense with fear. I do know I will Never go on the Tower of Terror ever again. Ever.

Five weeks ago a very generous past client of mine, Michele, offered us a free piano. Just so you know, we have been wanting a piano for a lonnnng time. We have been keeping our eyes open for one but hadnโ€™t found the right price yet. So when we got that email, we JUMPED at…

  • MicheleAugust 9, 2011 - 10:08 am

OMG, Betsy! It looks gorgeous! I can’t believe you painted it YOURSELVES. When you told me you were painting it, I thought you’d hired someone to do it for you. What a huge undertaking, but the end result is amazing. I’m soooo very happy that the piano has found a good and loving home with the King Family! I can’t wait to see the photos of John teaching Miles and Jossy to play it.

    Thanks guys!

Still waiting for HGTV to release the post!

Disclosure: We did all the prep work, but our friend Ken sprayed the piano with his airless paint spray gun. (Came over to our house 4 times to do it!) I’ll talk about that in my how to post. There is A LOT of prep work when using a sprayer, so that’s why I didn’t open the can of worms that is the explanation of the paint process.

  • KristenAugust 9, 2011 - 12:17 pm

It looks absolutely amazing! AND it looks fantastic in that room & I haven’t even seen the entire room, yet. He, he!! ๐Ÿ™‚

  • annie pAugust 9, 2011 - 9:32 pm

It turned out beautiful and a sprayer makes life A LOT easier! Can’t wait to see the whole room.

Hi Betsy:) I saw Return of the Planet of the Apes tonight and your EXACT piano (pre-yellow) was in one of the scenes! It was too funny . . . I thought of you;)

  • BethAugust 10, 2011 - 2:33 pm

Oh my lands! It’s beautiful but you definitely have more patience than me! Oh, and the “muzzle” comment cracked me up!

  • KelliAugust 10, 2011 - 7:23 pm

The response to my new package has been great and in an effort to streamline my booking process, I have added my pricing information to my blogsite. bayne family sneak peek

This shoot was of a family visiting family here from Norway, so there was a bit of a language barrier between me and the kids. However, this family has so much joy and such a beautiful and loving energy that it worked out best to let them snuggle, cuddle and do their own thing (instead… Related Posts Plugin for WordPress, Blogger...
