Aileen: Class of 2008

Meet Aileen. She loves swimming, photography and sunflowers.

I didn’t ask her if she likes Pina Colada’s and getting caught in the rain. (Ten points to anyone in the class of 2008 who actually got that last joke. Oh, sometimes I just have to embrace being old. When John and I said that Aileen was so photogenic that shooting her was like shooting fish in a barrel. She had never heard that expression before. We are such old fogeys!!!) Back to Aileen and things she enjoys…

Laughing! 🙂 She is soooo adorable!

I love this photo. She just emits happiness and ease, doesn’t she? And that dimple on her cheek? So cute!

We took a little break and she ditched the skirt for some jeans, that’s when she really got comfy and showed her true personality.

We were totally trespassing here snuggled up on someone’s front porch. These were some of my favorite shots of the evening.

We were in a historic neighborhood and the people we came across were so friendly. One guy hanging out on his front porch said he didn’t know Heidi Klum was in town for the day. He was so smitten with our gal that he was totally fine with us heading to his AWESOME backyard to continue out shoot. We took that opportunity to take a little break and I caught this random shot of our journey.

Oh, and yea, this awesome viney doorway was in the nice guy’s back yard. We were all flipping out at how “secret garden-esque” it all was. I have to say, photography has really opened my eyes to some beautiful places in Fort Wayne. My next home just won’t be able to be in the suburbs after shooting in these amazing neighborhoods. It’s been a really great eye opener for me to fall in love with a city that I have taken for granted my whole life.

We tried a little experiment here. Aileen was up for anything. Even laying on a concrete wall that was only about 6 inches thick.

There are more photos to come, of course, but I’m going to end on this super happy photo. I think her energy just jumps off the screen.

Oh, and btw, Aileen wasn’t planning on having senior photos taken. That is, until she saw Paul’s photos. (Thanks for being so photogenic Paul!) I am so glad she changed her mind! Aileen, being a photographer herself, has had some of her photography displayed at the Fort Wayne museum of art this past year so it was an honor to be chosen by such an accomplished up and coming photographer. (Her very proud mom was very excited to point this out to me. I LOVE hearing proud mom’s gush about their kids. Especially when they are teens. I’m right along with them, though I’m gushing about much more rudimentary skills at this point in my life such as the ability to point.) Thank you so much Aileen for choosing us to capture this special time in your life. We truly enjoyed our evening strolling around town with you and wish you all the best as you graduate!

Lots of love to you!

Betsy & John

PS More photos of Miles coming soon as well.
