Amanda came all the way from Wisconsin for some profile photographs for her photography businessand to grab some photos of her family. We have been talking since last year about doing her photos, but in the months since we first spoke, her daughter became ill. She was diagnosed with Juvenile Dermatomyositis, an auto-immune disease. Her daughter, Maura is on steroids, which changes her physically and emotionally. This has been a rough (understatement) year for them, but Amanda has shown so much strength as she has shared her experiences about dealing with her daughter’s chronic disease.

Maura is JUST ADORABLE. She warmed right up to the teddy bear I keep at my studio and just made me melt as she fed it a cupcake over and over.
