John had a business trip (to Flordia, no less) over the long weekend and I had a little taste of single mom-hood. To all the single mother’s out there, I bow to you. Seriously. I really am not that great at the single mom thing. I’m definitely more of a team player. My willful and very FAST toddler needs a team attack approach so I’m thankful to have John back home. Today is all about getting back into the swing of things as a family before the Thanksgiving holiday comes along to throw a wrench in things once more.
I will say, that even though I had 100% of the grunt work to take care of last week, I also got 100% of Miles’ love and snuggling. I usually have to share it with John, so it was a nice change to get ALLLLLL of it.
Here are some home alone confessions that prove once more, how much I would stink at living alone:
-I stay up till the wee hours of the morning because I’m too afraid to go to bed alone.
-I really don’t sit down and eat a full meal myself. I just kind of stand at the counter and nibble.
-No one to witness my junk food consumption.
-No one to witness my latte purchases…except when the credit card statements come later.
-I’ll take Miles to the movies in his jammies too close to his bedtime, just because it’s the weekend and I want to snuggle with him while eating popcorn. (I will leave half way through though, because I mean, I am still a mom.)
-I usually would watch a chick flick, or a whole season of some chick flick show on DVD, but I’m too busy working right now for that.
All right, speaking of being too busy, I need to get back to editing. Happy Thanksgiving week everybody!
I can totally relate to this post. Single parents ROCK! and I agree with your first bullet point.
Favorite part of the first photo – the older lady smiling! It made me smile too!
I am the exact same way when my husband is gone… stay up WAY to late and eat VERY badly. 🙂
I adore the reaction of the lady passing by!! Too cute!
