Friday night John and I had the Fort Wayne Museum of Art’s gala, so we got all dolled up for it.
(That is SOOOOO not what I look like on a regular basis.) Photo by grandma Smith who graciously babysat for us until the late hours of the night.
John snapped a quick shot of me before we headed out the door.
We left our big ‘ol camera at home as the Canon camera neck strap just doesn’t go my dress so these photos are courtesy of Erin.
Here’s the coolest table at the gala….
First off, me and my two chickies, Erin and Kristen. (Sorry that I’m sitting on you Erin!)
Here’s the adorable Erin and Kevin. (Baby Preston was home with Grandma but his photos came out during dinner as did Miles’ of course.)
and Kristen (the bride to be as you may recall) and Patrick, who are getting married this fall. Yippee!! (Grandma and Grandpa King, rumor has it they are tying the knot someplace pretty close to you, so Miles may be heading your way for a little trip as well.)
Remember that we had a photography session in the silent auction valued at $400? Well it went for $350 with about 6-7 bids! And, to top it off, a super cool family (the mom’s name is Betsy, so how awesome is that!?) with four kids won us so we are THRILLED. She knows me from my work with Matilda Jane Clothing. It’s such a SMALL, small world.
So I figured I would let you take a peak at a very teeny, tiny portion of my life that is glamourous. Today we were back to reality as Miles has learned to throw food. This isn’t such a big deal when he’s eating cheerios but tonight it was cheesy been and beef burritos with a creamy sauce. We are trying REALLY hard not to laugh at Miles but it’s hard to keep a straight face.
I know I promised videos tonight but John, my video man was exhausted from working all day and night. Who can blame him?
Ok, it’s muy late and I have a 10:30 appt. tomorrow. I made that appt. a month ago when I figured Miles would be asleep for his nap and I could sneak away while he slept. (John’s home working, I don’t just leave him at home if you were wondering.) But he won’t be asleep yet, so crap. Oh well, just another reason why John is awesome, he’ll just do what needs to be done while I do my thing.
Ok, I’m shushing. It’s 1:18. Man, I STINK at going to bed at a reasonable hour. : (
Looks like you guys had a great time! So sad we missed it!
Betsy, You look mahhhhvelous! And congrats on scoring another client!
You all look fabulous!!! Your dress is awesome! And I still think it’s so funny what a small world it is with Erin being a close friend of yours!
God, we are beautiful!
Seriously! ditto Kristin.
Betsy Betsy Betsy. Your talent is amazing. I so enjoy your work! You were without a doubt the most beautiful, and the most glamorous couples the Gala has ever seen. I’m looking for the Red Carpet.
Wow, I just ADORE your dress! 🙂
