goo goo ga ga

The other morning it was so chilly that I grabbed the nearest hat I could for Jocelyn, even though it was too big, to keep her warm and snuggly while I sipped my tea for a bit. John was heading out the door and couldn’t resist chatting with her and he ended up getting the cutest smiles out of her. Had to grab the camera.

By the way, the jammies she is wearing are from the Children’s Place and are my very favorite kind of PJ for babies and toddlers. They aren’t too thick and are nice and stretchy. If you ever have to buy a baby gift for someone, pick one or two of these up in a larger size. Like 18 month or 2T or something. People stop gifting cute clothes by around that age and they will be so thankful to have found they have cute jammies they don’t have to go out and get. (Do I speak the truth moms, or what?) Jocelyn is about to grow out of those cute pink and grey jammies any day now and I will be so sad. I got them at a garage sale so the pattern isn’t even around anymore, but I just love it.

Ok, enough babbling about jammies. Did I REALLY just spend an entire paragraph talking about PAJAMAS!? Lord help me. Can you tell I haven’t gotten out much for non-mommy talk lately? I’m working on arranging a date night soon for just me and John. I’m not even sure I know how to talk about anything other than babies these days… To make matters worse, I have been watching Keeping up with the Kardashians. Like ONE EPISODE AFTER ANOTHER. So my brain is like mush. It’s like mush and I’m suddenly feeling like my make-up is completely inadequate and that my hair is definitely not shiny enough. (Damn you Kim Kardashian and your perfect make up and hair!) To my childless friends: CALL ME and force me to talk about anything other than baby related topics. I would ask my friends with kids to do that, but come on, that’s like the blind leading the blind, right? Maybe I just need a magazine subscription to Vanity Fair or something.

Well, since I”m on a roll and we haven’t talked about Miles yet, let me blab for 2 more seconds. Here’s my guy Miles ignoring his sandbox and playing in his new favorite place, the landscaping mulch. Can’t you just hear the motor sounds he is making? The weather has been BEAUTIFUL lately and he has been cashing in on lots of awesome outside play time. I’m soaking it up as much as we can before the crappiest month next to March comes along (that would be November-BLECH!) and we are stuck inside. His latest joys have been Kindermusik, de-bunking our spelling of cuss words and wanting 100% of my attention when I’m nursing the baby. Bless his heart, this is a crazy time for him.

Crap, it’s 12:18 AM and I haven’t even pumped yet. (Is that TMI? Sorry ’bout that.) Shoot. If I have any hope to go out on a date night (or get my hair cut and colored this Saturday) I need to have some bottles ready. Gotta go!

Those jammies are PRECIOUS! I love the colors/pattern and they look so soft! Thanks for the heads up where to get them. Now that we’ve run out of everything people have gifted us, I need to buy some and I wasn’t sure where to start. I did have some from Gymboree I like. Anyway, I think she looks just like you! Is that what people say? Enjoy your fall!

Yeah, how COULD anyone resist her? (And, those lashes!!) I’d have a hard time leaving the house! P.S. I don’t think there is anything more irresistible than a cuddly baby in footie pajamas!!! Miss my babies that are all grown up…..

Hey Betsy – if Miles wants to be in big construction when he gets older just let me know (that’s my “day job”) and we’ll hook him up. Of course, it’s not all fun in the mud everyday… cheers, Nick
