Jackson’s one and on the move!

Remember this little cutie from last spring?? He was five months old for his shoot last spring…

And now he and his family are back for his one year old photos. Good gracious what a big change! He still has the same gorgeous eyes and precious smile, but he is now on the MOVE!

If you have a little one at home, you know that when the baby is on your shoulders, that means you are in for some serious hair pulling, ear or eye poking. 😉 I believe Jackson was digging in at this moment.

Here is a big boy moment when Jackson was holding on all by himself without mom’s help. Love those big eyes!

Lily, you have the most beautiful smile! I love how Jackson is just totally resting himself on your face. So precious.

Jackson’s daddy John couldn’t be at the last shoot, so we were excited to meet him this time. He, and his wife, Lily are the sweetest people. I always leave shoots feeling like a made new friends, and this time was no exception. John told us that since he reads our blog he already felt like he knew us, so we got to just jump in and shoot like we were shooting friends we have always known. It’s a bummer these guys live in Atlanta, though I think I need to make a trip there to shoot Jackson’s next milestone and a few of his buddies. (Though so far, I’m not a traveling photographer, but we do have a very special friend we would love to see in Atlanta and of course our new friends Lily and John. So you never know!)

Jackson was my second repeat client this month that I got to watch grow from behind the lens. (Hi Olivia!) What an honor and a joy to see little ones grow and to be trusted to capture such a precious (and fleeting!) time in their life. Thank you so much! Can’t wait to see the next step, and I have a feeling I’ll need my running shoes. 😉

As a personal aside, after being literally sick for 2 weeks straight (with a tiny break for two shoots where I was well) with two different illnesses, I was finally well enough and back on my feet JUST in time for our family photo shoot with Bobbi + Mike on Saturday. It was SOOOOOOO awesome to get to see my dear friends Bobbi + Mike again and to experience them for another shoot. It was realllllly good for me to be on the other side of the lens because I had really forgotten and taken for granted all the energy that goes into preparing for a family shoot. How nerve wracking it can be getting your self ready as a mom and then trying not to sweat all of your make up off as you run around the house putting the perfect outfit on your toddler when he usually just wears a zip up sweat suit. So to all of my clients, I applaud you for doing such a great job pulling your families (and yourselves!) together for your shoots. It’s such a great gift to yourself! We had a blast and I can’t wait to see what Betsy & John & Miles look like all together in a photo instead of just one or two of us at a time. You guys will be the first to know (at least after me!) when they are done. 😉

Still yet to come on the blog over the next couple of weeks are Jackson and the Yarn Shoppe Kid’s final proofs and musical slideshow. So stay tuned. I’m sure I’ll have plenty of other posts up with all the fun holiday stuff going. Happy first day back to work tomorrow everybody!
