Jocelyn’s third birthday was a zoo (Literally!)

Even though I love to craft and be creative, I’m not one of “those” crazy party moms you see on Pinterest throwing picture perfect parties for their kids. However, I DO love to throw big, super fun parties where the house gets trashed and we invite as many friends as we can fit in our yard. Every year I say I’m not going to do it, but I get so sentimental and excited thinking about the birth of my kids that I just can’t help celebrate them in a big way. This year, Joss wanted a My Little Pony theme and so along with the usual decorations and gifts, we also had the cutest little petting zoo (complete with pony, of course!) come to our back yard. (Yep, I just crossed over into “that crazy mom” territory. Trust me, I’m aware!)

Every birthday we HAVE to get a picture of Joss with her favorite neighbor twins. They are always such huge helpers putting together decorations with me the week before the party.

It’s a family tradition to have a “Pin the Tail” game revolving around the party theme and painted by me. It’s seriously my favorite part of party planning. So this year it was pin the rainbow on Rainbow Dash.

After the games, the petting zoo arrived and everybody FLIPPED out over the adorable animals that were arranged in buckets. They all stayed in the buckets, waiting to be held, except for this cute little rabbit who hopped into the chicken’s bucket.

I love celebrating my kids and every year, the celebrations get bigger and bigger. It was pretty NUTS inside my house that day and that’s saying a lot considering there was an actual petting zoo outside! This was, by far, the biggest party I’ve ever thrown and as awesome as it was, I’ll definitely be pumping the breaks on the parties for next year. I do have to say that despite ALLLLL this stuff happening in my living room with a cream couch and three girls eating cake on my chair that there wasn’t a stain left at all! My house may be small, but it’s not fragile. I love having a house that people can relax in.

We love our sweet Jocelyn so much and it blows our mind how fast she’s growing. She is such a precious little ray of sunshine and we all feel so blessed to have her in our life. Oh and somebody remind me next June to go easy on the ‘ol birthday planning. Knowing me I’ll hire a three ring circus to come if I’m not stopped! wink
