john’s commercial

Some of you may know, especially if you have gone to betsyandjohn.net and found our two businesses sitting next to each other, that my husband is a composer and has a little studio in our home. (Two creative businesses within 25 feet of each other. Yea, it can get nutty.) Anyway, John used to work mostly on marching band music, but recently he’s been getting some interesting projects from a local production company for commercials. He has been having a blast working on it, though man, the turn around time is crazy. He’s churning music out in a matter of hours for these projects.

Check out his blog to see and hear the completed commercial he wrote the music for. www.mettaaudio.com (If you didn’t know, metta means loving kindness. If you know John, you know that fits him perfectly.)

I can’t say I’m always very helpful in his writing process. This morning I discovered that Annie was playing on Turner Classic Movies so I had it on while cleaning the kitchen and just about when I was hoping to belt out my own rendition of “Maybe” John came out to ask me to please kill the TV because my melodies were messing up his. Opps! Of course they were. Yikes. So I have to try to be quiet sometimes, which isn’t always easy for me.

He just wrapped up a few more commercials this morning so I’ll keep you posted when those are ready to share.

Oh and the baseball spot is running in Fort Wayne, for our local new baseball team and we have never caught it! The TV isn’t on much around here, though tonight we did manage to catch the end of Bridezillas for some brainless fun. I swear, if you ever want your husband to fall in love with you all over again, watch the demons on that show.

Stuff going on around here that might show up on the blog soon: Another gorgeous senior, my BFF’s engagements, Miles’ new sandtable, last day of Kindermusik and knowing me, some essay on my love for ice cream sandwiches or how my skinny jeans no longer make me feel skinny because of said ice cream sandwiches.

For now, Nighty night!

I meant to shoot you a message on Twitter, but I saw it! It was around 1:30am Thursday (I guess Friday actually) when I was still packing. It sounds awesome! The video portion of it reminds me of the intro video at the games (that I also love). Awesome job John!
