look at that proud boy

Tomorrow is Miles’ last day of preschool so this week his backpack was bursting with all sorts of goodies from this past year. When John came home for lunch, Miles was so excited to show him each and every one of his art projects. Miles’ little face here is so proud and happy. It makes my heart want to explode.

Here was one of his fun projects he did during pizza day. We made mini pizzas the other night and he sure was a little expert on pizza making after that special day at school.

So notice that it’s May and my husband was in his winter jacket and Miles a hooded sweatshirt? It was one of those gross, freezing cold rainy days we’ve had this whole month. It’s so weird that Miles is wrapping up school when it’s been so cold. Tomorrow is supposed to be 80 degrees (finally!) so I’m sure it will seem more fitting tomorrow.

Lord help me though, those two mornings a week where I would cram as much work into two hours that I could while Miles was at preschool are going to be a thing of the past until next fall. I’m kind of lost without structure and this week both my photography work AND preschool ends at the same time. I’m going to be an ADD mess next week. Actually, today, I just had a card order to finish and after I finished that I just kept sitting at my computer, editing personal photos, checking email and after awhile I told myself, “Betsy, you are done with your client work. You can get up and go do something else.” It was SO WEIRD. I haven’t had that feeling since….well, before I started my business when Miles was 7 months old. (Truth be told, I do still have one last bit of client work on my to do list that I would like to do…) This bit of time off is going to take some adjusting. I’m really excited about the break, but of course have my hesitations. I LOVE my photography business and I know I’m going to miss it (trust me, I’m already dreaming up shoot ideas) but I’m hoping to clear the slate of everything over my break (except my logo, I’ll be keeping that, of course!), get back to photographing just for me for awhile and start out fresh and new when I return.

Ok, this blog was supposed to be about Miles and his excitement over his artwork. I’m shushing now!
