my back is killing me

and this is why:

I wear Jocelyn everywhere. She hates the carseat, and carrying the carseat is cumbersome as hell anyway, so I just pop her in the carrier and we are off. It’s super easy to handle Miles while she is in the carrier too, except when I have to lift him up into a grocery cart WHILE wearing Jossy in the carrier. LORD HELP MY BACK! After doing that I seriously wonder if I just punctured something in my body because it hurts in the craziest way possible. I’m working on getting back to yoga so I can handle the physicality of parenting two kiddos better, but right now, all this momma wants is a back rub! (and a new iphone case…)

Though nothing was as ouchy as THIS back ache! (These iphone pics were both taken in the Barnes & Noble restroom, so had to add this shot of Jocelyn in and out of my belly.) Awwwwwww, I LOVE looking back on my belly now, knowing that my sweet little Jossy B. was in there.

Well, that’s all I’ve got tonight. I’m sitting here trying to return emails and do some work, but my back is killing me. I’m off to bed.

PS I want my pretty summer tan back!

PPS Oh and by the way, anybody getting pregnant around NOW can enjoy a summer pregnancy just like mine next year! (Not to be TMI, but I think this was around the time Jocelyn came into the world.) I LOVED the ease of a summer maternity wardrobe. So get busy ladies and don’t listen to what every body says about summer babies being such a nightmare. It was awesome and I love snuggling up with my cozy baby as the weather gets cooler. Though for my photographer friends, I suppose it’s about the worst time you would want to take off work for a maternity leave, but oh well. I have the rest of my life to take photos. 😉

Nighty night. Off to rest this aching back!

Edited to add: After a big “duh” realization, I’m going to ditch the Bjorn carrier and start using my Beco carrier. I wasn’t using it in the beginning because it seemed to fit Jocelyn better when she was so little. Out with the Bjorn, in with the Beco!

Bjorn = backache! They’re terrible for ergonomics. Try an Ergo instead! http://www.ergobabycarrier.com/(And no, I don’t work for Ergo or get paid to advertise – just a happy baby-carrying mama!)

Betsy try other carriers. The Bjorn, while readily available and easy to use, it not at all back friendly. There are many, many carriers out there that are so much easier on the back…slings, Mai Tais, Ergo, Etc. Check out the babywearer.com to help you decide on the best carrier for you.

What a doll! That little girl has a different carrier for each day of the week! 🙂

If you are going to Lotus for yoga, I highly recommend seeing Vicki for a massage. I have been seeing her regularly for two years and it has made major improvements on my back pain. I haven’t been back since Nora was born but I am dying to get back.

The Beco will make a huge difference I am sure!
