our dry fourth

Our fourth of July was so dry we had a ban on shooting off fireworks. I figured everybody would anyway, but it was strangely quiet that day, as (most) everybody listened. We weren’t taking any chances ourselves, so before we headed off to our friend’s pool to soak for the day, we shot off the only fireworks we could: Mentos & Diet Coke.

Pop

Weeee! Don’t blink, you might miss it! (especially if you are trying to take a photo of it) It was a fun little waste of junk food and gave us a good explosion that every fourth needs.

Who is that blonde kid in the photo you ask? That’s the neighbor kid. He’s over all the time. He very well might start to be in more photos these days than my own son.

Hope you all had a lovely fourth. I had a relaxing day with friends eating red, white and blue waffles, swimming, frying my already sun damaged skin, eating bomb pops and I’m so thankful it’s behind me. Onward to the time of summer when it REALLY starts to fly by. Eeep!
