We celebrated Valentine’s day on Friday this year. We wanted to avoid the rush of Saturday night and to be truthful, the expense of it too. So we played hooky, (Shhhh, don’t tell our bosses!) dropped Miles off at our neighbor’s to play and headed out to lunch at a fabulous restaurant we hadn’t been to in AGES (FOOD PERFECTION!) Then off to a matinee of The Curious Case of Benjamin Button.
Going out with John in the middle of the day like that was AWESOME. We are inside so much working on our computers or home with Miles, that it just felt magical to get out and go be adults (and get to focus on feeding myself, instead of another person) during the day when would usually have our little guy along for the ride. It was a PERFECTO Valentine’s day.
We came home to some flowers on our doorstep from my brother. Isn’t that the sweetest thing ever? It was a HUGE bouquet of LOTS of mini roses. Aren’t they beautiful? Miles smells them with a big dramatic inhale and says, “Mmmmmmm, smells tasty!”
Miles got some very sweet Valentine’s cards in the mail and just LOVED them. So everybody had a great Valentine’s day and hope you did too! (I’m STILL enjoying WAYYYY too much Valentine’s candy. UGH!!)
Happy Valentines Day Miss Betsy! I am glad it was magical for you guys. You deserve it.

Oh no! You guys liked that movie, didn’t you?
Happy Valentine’s Day!! Everyone loves their babies but it is so awesome when you can have dinner without playing peekaboo or entertaining a 2 year old! Glad you enjoyed your date day!
oohhh…those roses are BEAUTIFUL. I hope you dry them.
glad you and John had a great day together!! you deserve it Mama. 🙂
Those flowers are b-e-a-utiful. How cute that Miles says they smell “tasty”! 🙂 How wise of you to get out for V-day the day before. We happened to be in the fort for the weekend so my parents watched Ella for us. Mark took me to Casa and a movie which is just what I wanted. 🙂
Those flowers are stunning. I bet they smell tasty too. lol
