A week ago we were at the lake with three of our favorite people, Erin, Kevin and Preston. Actually, since it’s 1 AM, it was literally a week ago that we were heading to bed. The funny thing is, Miles was sleeping in his pack n play and woke up when we finally decided to go to bed. Well, we tried, for the first time ever, to co-sleep with the little guy. Uh, he wasn’t having it. He was trying very hard to snuggle up to me (burrowing and burrowing his head into my neck) while speedbag kicking John in the stomach. He flipped, he flopped, it was awful! We knew he would have to cry it out for a bit in the crib for a few minutes before he fell asleep, but we were so worried he would wake Preston. (Later we learned that they couldn’t hear a peep! Duh!) So it was a rough slumber party for a bit, but all so worth it to get such a fun weekend away with our friends! Oh, and he ended up sleeping in the pack n play and we were so bummed. We were hoping to get to snuggle with him all night long.

We had an awesome time out on the lake. Miles and Preston enjoyed splashing in the lake and we all just relaxed, chatted, baby gazed and enjoyed some wine and LOTS of food. Gooood times.

Thank you SOOOOO much Erin and Kevin (and nana Connie) for inviting us up to spend Labor Day with you guys. We reallllly needed some time away and just can’t tell you how much we appreciated it. We can’t wait to see you again!

As I write this I CAN’T believe the summer is just about over. As much as I love fall, it’s all just coming and going too fast. I tell you, getting older makes time FLY so quickly, it’s scary. The whole summer has flown by and I never even hosted any kind of party or even grilled out for friends. Jeez, what is wrong with me? I need to do that soon before we are all stuck inside this winter.

Well, for now, I’m heading to bed. Thanks again Kevin, Erin and Preston. We just love ya so much!
