Oh August, you came and went like a whiplash, leaving me dazed with this sudden whoosh of autumn breezes and school supplies in my lap. Looking back I remember going to a blissful day of King’s Island with John, shooting some portraits and other than that, just lots of summer days with the kids, soaking up the sun before the rush of fall arrived.
Instead of a self portrait for August, I’m posting a self video. I’m doing these little portraits of myself to document my life as each month flies passes by for my older self someday and of course, for the kids. So I figure video would be nice to have as well. (I’m REALLY hoping that for September I actually TAKE a real self portrait.)
So here is a peek into an August evening at our favorite Chinese Restaurant. I think this was a day where I was exhausted and nobody wanted to cook, so I threw my hair in a bun and off we went to the luxurious respite of Yeng Ching.
Here’s my August self portrait with a bit of me and my view.

Betsy, I say it every time but your family is ADORABLE!! Can’t believe how big the kids are getting already, such a great idea for this month’s self portrait. 🙂
What a great idea!
I just love Miles trying to do a chin-up on the counter to get a closer view!
